How Good Is Upgp

It is a lot of money considering the out lay of cash but when when put into perspective to amount used and cost per application it could prove to be a real value. I am presently testing a mutiple layered(six layers in seven days) om my wife's hood against another popular WOWA sealant and both look quite good. I am hoping that multiple layers will give me great protection, good looks, ease of cleaning, easy application, and easy maintenence.

I am glad to see that others are using this product. It is very clear that Rsurfer is producing excellent results with his posted pictures.

Couldn't agree more! I have applied UPGP over 50 times and have probably only used one ounce of product.
It is no doubt an outstanding product... :D

Here are some of the results I have had---

See, that is exactly my point. Even though it is clearly on their Web site ("Ultima Paint Guard Plus, containing Polycharger Wax Booster technology, ...") it is in such manner that it is easy to miss.
Your right, it does say it is polycharged in small print on the bottle. Didn't see it the first time. Thanks for pointing it out.

For the sake of accuracy and full disclosure I am finding from other forums this is not just 3 coats of UPGP, it is 3 coats of UPGP over DWG.
You are correct, it is the 3rd coat of UPGP over DWG.

What is DWG? I've looked at the various abbreviation threads and found nothing.

Great results Rsurfer! Super wet-look. Just wondering what was your process using UPGP and DWG. Did you use UPPP prior to DWG/UPGP?

RSurfer,
How much of the look do you attribute to the DWG? Did the UPGP merely lock it in or improve it substantially?

It is fantastic by the way, the look we all lust after.

I put UPGP 2X over a just polished paint and then applied DWG X1 It look good, but I don't beleive it added that much to the looks. However, after applying the next coat of UPGP it really started to amp up the gloss. I don't know if the DWG under the UPGP did it or not.

How long to apply a 2nd coat of UPGP ?
From personal experience I would give it at least 12 hours. I have applied it late in the afternoon and been really surprised at how much better it looked the next morning. From my totally non-scientific observation I figure something is chemically happening during that time to help it bond and cure. Considering a whole car application take all of about ten minutes, do some testing and let us know how it works for you.

Ultima says its safe to recoat after 45min, times will vary though based on weather.

I usually do a second application right after the first just to make sure I didn't miss anything. Its also great on the glass.

Tip-If you are not sure you have enough on the applicator, press it against the glass it will show up on the glass much better than the paint. :xyxthumbs:
