After all the detailing job, swirls under the sun!!!

Dear detailers,
After reading a lot of information here and almost writing my personal book, and over a year of buying an used PC, Souveran, PB 2.5, etc, etc, I detailed my black mini using all the techniques and recommendations:
-wash
-Clay
-wash
-SSR2.5 with PC, Orange pad and following the videos posted
-Pinnacle AFP, PC white pad, following the videos
I was working in my garage, so i used light bulb and a long cable to verify no more swirls were left and then i proceed:
-Klasse AIO
-Klasse SG (multiple layers)
-Souveran and the sprit-shine method

So, after two weeks of doing this, i finally took my car out and with a clear, no clouds, beutiful day, i could seem them, there they were, :eek: swirls!!!

I cant do all over again..or should i? what went wrong?Feed back please
 
i had these problems in the past. the best combo that worked for me is a white pad. and menzerna 106 ff polish . swirls gone!! ready for lsp..
 
All the fancy products in the world won't help if your process isn't good.

I totally agree. The thing is that the solution shouldnt be buying another product.

But if i followed the videos - i even polished with my clock on hand and a picture showing how the broken polish looks like - what went wrong????
 
Black is very very unforgiving. Perhaps you didn't break the polish down enough? Could be lots of things that went wrong.
 
Sounds like you need to experiment a little....as stated, black is VERY unforgiving. Different clearcoats will take different approaches to get swirl-free.
Are you sure they are swirls and not just streaking from wax?

Hmmm
Good question, but i think they are swirls. How can i tell if they are caused by streaking?
 
After many many hours by a detailer and myself on my black 2006 Corvette it show swirls when the sun hits it just right. It has to do with the way the stars were aligned when we were born.

That's not entirely true. Sometimes that is the ONLY solution. However, the last thing you should do is let frustration get the better of you.

Black hides nothing. There are a ton of factors that can explain why there are still swirls, but I think the contributing factor is that you just used a light bulb.

A 100W lightbulb isn't going to generate the minimum amount of light power for you to see all the swirls; a single lightbulb isn't as bright as the sun, is it?

If you have a halogen tripod with 1000W, that will help you get a better picture of the paint condition. There's also the 3M Sun Gun (but that's crazy expensive), the Infratech, and the most affordable solution...the Brinkman Dual Xenon...all 3 of which are handheld light sources.

You just need to do more passes.

I think this is what i was expecting, but i didnt want to hear, i have to do all over again and *before* moving on with AIO and SG, put the car out to the sun and check for swirls...
 
How bad are the swirls? 2.5 is pretty aggressive and your using it with an orange pad. I'd try a white pad. Also if your putting pressure on the machine try not to use any or very little.

They are not that bad, i know they wont 100% dissapear, but i thought they wouldnt be so noticeable. I used pinnacle AFP after 2.5 and the white pad, isnt it supposed to eliminate them?
