Has anyone tried the Mequiars m105 yet.

well I have the Menzerna Final Polish that comes with the older PC kit. I quickly learned that the FP I got wasn't the popular Menzerna. I was kinda chapped on that so on I went using my IP/FP combo with decent results. I HAVE tested 105 with poli-seal then NXT 2.0 as an LSP. I was pretty impressed all the while knowing that a true finishing polish would get better results. How about 1Z polish? I was thinking about picking that up. think it's called Total polish or whatever in the green bottle?

I have not worked with the 1Z polishing products, but you can use IP after M105, then finish up with FP. There is nothing wrong with the two polishes that you have. I you those also when needed.

yeah I think that would work fine. My thought though is based on my initial experience with M105. Using a PC and a 4" orange pad, the finish looked better than I expected. That said, I want to fin ONE addl step to finish up....this is just generally speaking. I'm sure I could great results making 105 the first of 3 steps, but in essence of time, I'd like to hit it with a finishing polish and maybe a white polishing pad....then seal it up with some opti-seal and OCW.

You should really follow up M105 with a mid-polish like SIP, then do a final polish like 85RD or Ultrafina.

This is my opinion too. I have a hard time believing that you can go from a compound to LSP, even if used with a finishing foam pad.
I usually reach for SIP and then UF after using 105 with a light wool. I get very noticeable improvements after following 105 with SIP.

After using the m105 and seeing holograms i just used 106ff and it looked awesome. This was also my first time using a rotary so for the finished product i did use my flex and not the rotary.

Use prep sol after 106ff to ensure the finish you saw was it's true state... especially if you are using a pad with any cut such as a white pad...

Great advice and if you did use the white pad go back over the vehicle with 106ff and a blue finishing pad to ensure it is hologram free.

Touche'.....

As I am sure you would agree asphalt, Ultra Fina SE and Menzerna 85rd are also great finishing polishes that when used with any finishing pad that has no abrading action will ensure a hologram free finish

From review I did on another board I will also include how I use M105

Meguiars 105 Ultra Cut Compound: What can I say; this stuff has made the rounds on many forums and for good reason. It cuts fast and hard. The thing is you must re-learn EVERYTHING you have ever learned about machine polishing you don’t:
•Start the machine speed off slow
•Speed up
•Break it down
•Slow down the speed of the machine
I start off at 1100 RPM, put some 105 on the paint, start compounding and count to 13, if the compound after 13 seconds comes off easy, that tells me I may be able to work it longer SO, I bump the speed up to 1300 and still count to 13. If the compound still comes off easy I try it again on speed 1300 BUT count to 16 if it still comes off easy I bump up to 1500 RPM and count to 16. if it still comes off easy I up my count to 20 and still use 1500 RPM.. Once any of the above steps makes the compound come of with difficulty I go to the last method that the compound was easy to remove.

This product really talks to you by how hard/easy it is to remove. If it’s a pain to remove, that means you worked it too long or too fast or both.

I was only going by what redg35 was using. 85RD or Ultrafina are a better finishing polish, 85RD edging out Ultrafina by a small margin. But for ease of use Ultrafina gets the nod.

Gotcha... I was just mentioning the other polishes for the benefit of those that may want to take it to the next level!
