I have worked for BMW for the last 8 years. I have never seen it slow down. I talk to dealers (non BMW) and I always hear hwo slow they are and what not but not us. I worked BMW in FL, there are 5 BMW stores all about 40 minutes of each other all selling over 300 cars a month and the parts and sevice sales are great as well. I am now workin in NC and we have broken records 2x this yr in the parts dept.

Yea the well off that can afford a BMW dont care about the economy or the loss of good paying blue collar jobs to overseas or the cost of gas at 4.50 a gallon they are doing just fine. It is the suckers that have to work for a living everyday that are the ones struggling. You know the ones that work construction and drive beaters to a job that is under increased cost pressure from illegal immigrants? Ask them how well the economy is doing! And ask the millions of people who cannot afford health insurance?

These are the people that built this country and they are the ones that are hurting. The middle class is shrinking and it is not a good thing!

It's been very slow in my area, folks are struggling to make ends meet and a lot of construction workers are moving out of state looking for work and the middle class are very worry about the future.

Unfortunately in the past 5 years or so, way too many BMW's were sold to suckers who have to work for a living every day but felt the need to over extend their credit to get the BMW and are now feeling the pinch.

this and with the combination of the slow economy is the reason the the US is in the situation that it is in...

While I agree the economy sucks (called it a recession or reset) but we are the cause of this. We want those super SUVs, we allow high balances on credit cards and promises to pay later, and we drove the prices up on everything we do with over consumption. Why does these food business sell more ?? Because we are to lazy to make it at home or skip that 5.00 coffee. I dont like it anymore than anyone else, as feeling the pinch as do my clients, but will take the blame for my part too.

and do we really need gallons of shampoo ???? and 8 tubs of wax???? crap im the cause of this crap economy....:D

well, look at it this way, by spending all your money your helping to move the economy back inline. So spending is good, we should however learn to spend within our means. Ever wonder why the baby boomers did so well at saving ?? Our parents learned a valuable lesson, live within your means and save until you can afford to buy something in full.

Very good advice Scott........currently I have NO credit cards with a balance and I'm feeling the pinch. $500 per month just for gas for my wife and I. My daughter is approaching working age and we are instilling the "save" teaching in her head. Save at least 10-20% of your income(if possible). Wish I was taught that when I was growing up!!!!

It is very true. I was makin a point on the rich gettin richer while the middle class gets poorer. I have worked for BMW for 8 yrs, I have owned 2 BMW's in the 8 yrs. One was a 1986 325es got for $500 second was a 1988 528e I got for $300. I traded in my mustang for a family car, 99 Accord back in 05. I now drive a 1994 Lincoln Mark VIII. I get great deals on BMW's but I have 2 cars that run great, the Mark gets over 25 mpg and both are paid off. I do not know how people that have kids, 1 person workin can afford anything extra. I am hoping I can get a few people that are willing to pay for their car to be detailed so I can make extra money otherwise I will have to get a second job again.

Amen!

America is in the worse situation right now for economy and health wise. Americans are very over weight. While fast food is the only thing they can get. Everyone is so lazy. Technology makes things easier... yes... but also easier to slack off and just gain fat. Now on the economy. America made a lot of laws to protect us from monopolies. But what happened? Wal-Mart is getting a ton of business. While the store down the street doesn't have anyone. Monopoly? I think so. So what... we can blame gas.. right?... RIGHT!? Not entirely. There are WAYYYYY more things to blame than that. Gas prices is a natural thing to rise. Its been happening for forever. Wont stop. You think it just happened to raise recently? No.. everyone always complained. Its called inflation. Why wont we take those actors you see on the big screen and bump them down a notch... or 2... or 100000. While we are paying 9 bucks a ticket, those hard working construction workers are getting that per hour. So what happened to the 'American Dream' of 'Work hard and get money'? Did we forget the principle of working hard? Or just the fact that people that act good are getting more than a whole state's crew of construction workers? I can go on and on about people who get paid entirely to much money. But I will stop here. You get my point.

Worse than? ever? You think this is worse than the Great Depression of the early 1930's when 1 in 4 workers were unemployed?

As long as people are dumb enough to pay 9 bucks for the ticket, then I guess the people who draw them to the theaters (big name actors and actresses) deserve it. Otherwise, it would all go to the producers. I have been to the theaters twice in the past decade so I don't feel too responsible for their bloated salaries.

Same goes for athletes. If people are dumb enought to pay $50 to $100 to watch an NBA, NFL or MLB game than the guys who pack the stadiums (the athletes) deserve the money. Otherwise it would all go to the owners.

So what happened to the 'American Dream' of 'Work hard and get money'? Did we forget the principle of working hard?

Who said it no longer exists in the US? Try telling that to the Mexican who snuck into the US to live such a dream. He probably shakes his head looking at many Americans who are too lazy to work hard and still expect the government or the wealthy to take care of them instead of them getting off their butt and taking care of themselves.

No, But we are probably getting close to the second Great Depression. It is getting pretty bad.

Ya, well its what the people want to see. Its ridiculous that they would make it so much for what the people want to see. A good example of the abuse of supply and demand.

You went off topic. I was saying the lower/middle class who probably work a lot harder than the higher class do not make as much money, and that's why the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.

Reply's in bold

very true, Scott. Most of my credit card bills 9almost all of them) are paid in full just as soon as I receive them. I just use a credit card for points that they offer which later turn into rewards.
