Sorry, those pics are a deceiving...They are not before and after pics! I wish they were!!! The second pic is the roof. And that haze is from wiping the dust off for the pic.

I don't have time to join in on your stroke fest today. Sorry. If you want good examples of using 'less than premium' products you should check out some of the detailers on MOL. My process isn't much/any different than anyone else as far as steps goes. Wash, clay, rewash, 2 (or sometimes 3 step) polish, sealant/wax. You could spend a good deal of time spot treating other areas too. The list can really grow to be too long to sit here and try and justify to folks who want to keep a closed mind and think they need a $50.00 polish to get the best results possible. Just use integritydetail for example. I'm pretty sure he uses Optimum polishes. Those are less than half the price of your typical Menzerna. You've seen his results. So why are you doubting me?

Ah. I thought they were a before/afters! Thanks for clearing that up.

Try some rubbing alcohol or some naptha to remove the sap spots. Ideally you want your paint as smooth as you can get it before you start polishing. It'll take some trial and error to find the right combo that works for you.

your not going be satified until you machine polish....that is where things start to happen....
 
If you guys want to help out f_bomb, that's fine. However, I'm not going to tolerate childish bickering, especially in a new guy's thread in which he is trying to learn proper steps, since that's just not fair to him.

Either cut the BS, or take it to PM's.

Don't flatter yourself by saying I am trolling you, Like I said its on other forums also. You bring nothing to any of the forums. I will stay here and other forums and continue to call people out that do not help or contribute. Maybe you should go away from the forums with your whining attitude and yes complaining on one of your first post does show what type of person you are. I am here and other forums to help people and continue to answer questions through pm's, not to whine but to help. Also would you please leave DB also.:D

F Bomb that does look a little better, dont know how much better you are going to get by hand. As far as the spots in your earlier pics you are going to need some type of machine to either get rid of them or make them less noticable.
Mindflux, my above post did provide help and/or a few suggestions unlike yours telling people to go to another site to see what other people have done, none of it your work.

Well as of the moment that's the best I can do to provide 'proof' for Rsurfer that indeed you can get better than average results with 'average' products is to direct him somewhere where you see this 'miracle' happen on a daily if not hourly basis. I'll be the first to admit that I've bought a number of items both detailing related and non detailing related based on advertising or hype. I think we've all fallen victim to that before.

I was merely getting at the fact that you do not need to buy a 50 dollar quart of polish to bring you car back from swirlville. It's all about the right tool for the right job and not the most expensive.

I've been detailing (part time) for over a decade now. I've always, ALWAYS ALWAYS preached process over product. The best polish or waxes aren't going to make your car look good by themselves. Knowing how to appropriately use them (ie process) is 90% of the battle.

F Bomb the car looked good before no doubt, but I think those products were masking the problem not fixing it. Nothing wrong with using OTC products, use whatever suits your needs. I use a lot of Meguiars and Duragloss, they work great and the fact I can get them locally is a great plus. I try to stay away from "hype" products or products that break the bank, there are some expensive items I would like to try but for now it is not feasable.
Get some Meg Color X and try just half of your hood with it see how that works, then top with a sealant Im not sure what you have available but some Meg NXT 2.0 or DG 111 would be nice then after it is fully cured (atleast 12 hours) top with the Natty's blue.
 
Okay...I will see what happens and use the Megs Polish I have and maybe get scratch X or wait and order PB BH...

Just to follow up, I used my poormans PC...AKA my craftsman car buffer (the cheapo classic one, nothing like a PC/DA). The results came out much better!!! I didn't get a chance to take pics. I had a car meet to go to and the car got dirty/dusted quick so no point in pics. I will next wash.

The swirls are still there but greatly muted! You only see a few rings an inch apart if you know what you are looking for. The PB Natty Blue still doesn't exactly do it for me, I am happy with it, but will try something new next time. I'll post pics next wash!
