Hey all!

Im a 21 Year old college kid from upstate NY joining the board after a few years of lurking!

I love to detail my Rio Red 1999 Mustang GT but with most 10 year old cars, I have problem areas in my paint. I have always detailed by hand however I have accepted the fact that I can only give it the facelift it needs through the use of a buffer. I must research and get feedback on the condition of my paint from you folks before I go ahead and purchase a product list I put together off of AGO's store. I realized that paying a detail shop 2/3 the cost of a detailing kit from AGO is not cost effective. Plus, a buffer is something that is timeless, it is not a one time use device. It will pay for itself over time.

So all of you wishing to help a guy out, look for my thread in the coming days when I can take some pictures of my car's paint. I am excited for my impending purchases. I just hope my paint isnt too far gone in the areas I wish to correct.

With your guidance AGO, you can expect great before and after pictures to follow.

Oh, BTW...its pronounced "Demon";)

Welcome aboard! I used your same line of thinking when it came to my initial (and subsequent) purchases, my first item being a Porter Cable 7424. Looking forward to seeing those before and after pics.
Enjoy!

I am dead set on a 7424. I know there are better tools out there and I certainly dont mean to "Run before I can walk" when learning the art of buffing.

Even though I know there is better (I am not saying the 7424 is bad! Its amazing [from what I have seen]!) I don't mind taking the extra time with the 7424 to get similar results to those of a higher grade tool.

Welcome to AGO. With the PC make sure to get 5.5" and 4" pads

Hey man I am the same way. I new to buffers :buffing: so I took the same approach and bought a PC 7332 to get the hang with it and then will progress up.

BTW WELCOME TO AGO

Thanks guys, I will be posting my purchase list in the PC section shortly for review :)

Send AG some Peter Lugers, and you'll get free products :D

Congrats on your decision to buy the 7424 and supplies from AG. You wont be sorry. Don't forget to keep us on your progress using the new items.
