This baby was dirty!!!
It’s almost ten years old so the paint lacks a bit of gloss but it still runs great. Wheels were neglected by pervious owner so there is a lot of pitting, but they serve the purpose.

Washed with DP Xtreme and a boar’s hair brush with long handle
Used Pinnacle Microfiber Mitt to get in the tight spots
Needed claying and a good polishing but was not going to happen this time.
Sprayed Wheel wells down with DP Cleanse All
This is where I set out of the box…
Used XMT 360 on the wheels just to see what it would look like
Used Stoner More Shine on the wheels
And for a real first on this baby… used Opti- Seal!

As you can see its been raining a lot here, wheels are nasty!

Step up bar too…

Lots of road grime on the lower panels, really wish I had the time to have clayed.

Tires got treated with Stoners, I think I will go back to using gel; wind blew this all over the truck.

Wheels are glowing now.

Figured I would do the side rails too…

Well I have to say XMT 360 is a must have for whatever job you are doing. Also I found out that I am really not a fan of aerosol tire dressings at all.
I still and will always love DP Final Gloss Booster and my guzzler for drying.
OHH yes and a wash brush with a handle is a short girl’s true friend!
As for the Opti-Seal, I would really need to try it on a better prepped surface, it was incredibly easy to use, but just did not get the shine that I like to see. But I did not do any prep and that paint is old, so not a fair judge by any means.

Looks pretty dam good for no prep. Nice job on those wheels. What brand are those? Love the shape of the spokes.

I have no clue, but I will check for you, not really a "wheels" girl, but they make the truck look nice. They came with the Suburban when we bought it.

Optiseal's look appears over the first few hours, but not so much right away IME. I have been applying it lately with a MF towels instead of the foam app with much better result. I think the truck looks great for its age! Nice work!

Looks great especially with no prep work. What towel was used to apply the OOS? I just recieved some but no applicator and was going to use Meguiars Foam pad.

nice job cleaning it up. do you detail on the side for money?

Looks awesome. Glad to hear about the 360. I just scooped up the BOGO deal on it...

Looks really nice, Meghan. I have been curious about Opti-Seal...have you had much experience with it? I am curious about the durability.

Ok to answer everyone's questions...

sal329... I used a yellow foam applicator and wiped off with an Indigo.

BigAl3... no detailing for money, I do family members when I have new products to try out that we are getting ready to put on the site. Although I do have a boat that I detail everytime its out of the water, and I do get paid. But that is a grandfathered in deal!
Mainly I try to keep mine in good shape so Max wont be ashamed that I park under the AUTOGEEK.NET sign!

Supercharged... don't be silly I work at the Geek, you have to be "detailed" inclined!

Dannythekid...you will love 360 I would normally use 360 and a LC white pad over the whole car before doing a sealant or wax job, just due to the wonders 360 works!

Emile... I do not have much experience with Opti-Seal at all so I would not know about durability. But I guess I will find out now.

Thank you everyone for looking, I really should take pictures everytime I detail or try out a new product. That would be the nice thing to do.:buffing:

I've been using it off and on for a few months now and I normally don't keep close tabs on durability. Why? It takes me 10 min to apply it and I'm done (mid size cars). Having a bad back this is a God send for sealing wheels.
Meghan it looks great for just a wash and seal imho. You like your gas guzzlers huh :D

No worries that baby does not drive far, I take the 300 for the hike to the office everyday.
