Used the porter cable today which is the third time I've ever used it but was afraid to really try on my Cobra.

Anyhow, I took a few pictures and figured I'd share:

BEFORE TOUCHING PAINT WITH THE PC:

Made a little progress:

Once I did the whole car, I took it outside to wipe down the windows, clean / touch up the rims, etc:

Still have a little bit of paint correction to work on with some swirls and also need to add a nice coat of wax before winter. I'm still learning the porter cable LOL. ....

Sorry I didn't have any "before" pictures and was so anxious to try out my PC7424 and also I used the XMT Intermediate swirl remover with orange pad, XMT fine swirl remover with white pad, and topped it with XMT Carnuba glaze with the black pad. Im the MAN

Enjoy!

Looks pretty good . There is nothing to be afraid of .You have one of the safest tools to polish your car. Always do a test spot to figure out which combo of pad and product will acheive your goal and replicate the process over the rest of the car.As you use it more you will gain mor confidence. Good luck amd that is one nice ride.

Congrats on your purchase of the PC. Very nice Cobra and the red paint looks super.

Looks good, how is your car lowered?

Coilovers up front (with tubular front end parts) and Eibach lowering springs on the back (along with custom fabricated upper & lower control arms.)

What you don't see is the 8 point roll cage in the car :righton:Im the MAN shhh don't tell.

Thank you very much. Car looks superb from 5 foot. Once you get a lot closer, you notice a lot of the paint imperfections that I'm working to correct. For the paint almost 10 years, I think it looks good.

Hey bud. I know my schedule is one of the hardest to figure out. If I ever figure it out, I'll be excited. LOL.

I figured since I had off today and had nothing planned, I'd try to take care of the car myself. I'm very happy with the results but I know this Rio Red can really pop if done correctly.

As mentioned, I used the XMT products today, however, I want to use my Pinnacle sourveran wax and other Pinnacle products to see if that causes the paint to get that nice deep shine.

The car had a lot of swirl marks and I have a lot of work ahead of me. There's also some paint chips that I need to figure out. I have the duplicolor kit and used that, however, the paint doesn't match.

To be completely honest, I could use some guidance more then anything. I have a couple of kits, however, I feel like I'm missing something to help get me that overall shine I need/want. I've read a lot of information on the Menzerna SIP/Nano, etc and am wondering if I should pursue obtaining them?

I have some SIP and Nano, and I think I have some sample bottles. If you want to try them I may be able to hook you up.

That would be awesome to have a few samples :righton::righton::righton: please?:welcome:

Yes Sip/Nano on mustang paint works wonders. It really cleaned up my pony. Since mine was never polished in it's 13 yr existence I went with Sip and an orange 5.5 light cutting pad and it worked wonders.
