My first correction with the new Meguiars M205 polish.

2005 VW Passat. Owner was not looking for a full correction, just wanted the interior done and a 1-step on the outside. I cleaned this car about 18 months ago but the touchless car washes have taken their toll on th paint. It was a good test to see what M205 could do on the hard VW clear coat.

Products used:
Gold Class Soap
Mild Clay
Last Touch
APC
APC+
Meguiars Glass Cleaner (Detailer Line)
Quick Interior detailer
Meguiars #40
Hyper dressing
M205
NXT 2.0

Tools:
Rotary with W8207 Polishing pad
FLEX with W9207 Finishing pad
Little Green Machine
Wet-Vac
Various brushes

Before pics....you gotta love MN winters!

50/50 shot, the new M205 seemed to do an excellent job removing defects for being a finishing polish. This was after the Rotary and W8207 pad. I later followed with the FLEX and W9207, which added a LOT more gloss.

Thanks for looking,

Looks great, you do nice work. I'm pretty happy with the Menzerna polishes, but if Meguiars can hit the right price point with 205 it might be a nice alternative.

I have a question and a comment.

Did you use #40 to clean the leather seats? I know it works well on vinyl and rubber but I figured it was too strong for leather. Would you recommend using a conditioner afterwards?

This is just my personal opinion, but I really dislike NXT on black. To my eye it has such a harsh, sterile shine, even in pictures.

Again, nice work and review.

Thanks!

I really like my Menz polishes too, but I think Meguiars has set the bar with the new M105/M205 combo.

No, #40 was only used on the vinyl. I forgot to add that I used Zaino Z10 on the seats. I cleaned them with APC first.

I actually like NXT 2.0 on black, but like they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. ;)

looks great! would you say that you removed 100% of the defects or nearly all with m205? by the way that looks like about 2 inches of ice covering your driveway!

I'd say the M205 removed about 70% of the defects. ;)

Looks very nice!!

What was your carpet process?

Also did you try 105 under the door handles?

Rasky........great job !
The Meguiars 205 is a big buzz word right now in the detailing world..........I have used it twice( cold weather here in Ky.) so business has been slow, but the results are great, its easy to work with......to me its a home run !! I too still like my Menz, SIP and Power Finish...but the Megs205 is extremely easy to work with which is great for me and my customers.

Pretreat with APC+, then go over with LGM, hand scrubbing the bad areas, and then following up with a wet-vac. I don't think the LGM has enough suction so I always follow it up with the wet-vac.

Yes, I did hit under the handles this morning with M105 by hand. I had forgot to hit them last night and was reminded when I was reviewing my pics this morning. ;)

Very nice reflections. I have to admit, when I first looked at the outdoor picture of the rear end of the car it looked like you neglected to make corrections on the bumper and right above it, but silly me I realized it was a reflection off the driveway. Great work in lousy winter weather.

What polishers have you used it with? I really like it on the FLEX! :righton:
