OK,here we go!!!!!

after reading the thread made by josh07redss, i figured it's my turn to try.
all i have done is my hood. i figure if it comes out good enough then i'll move on to the rest of the truck.

there are a few questions i do have for the guru's though.
- is the product suppose to get powdery while i'm working it to break down, or am i going to long?

- I did the first step twice but still have some scratches left, although 85-90% of the scratches are gone. what do i need to do to get the rest out?, a more agressive product?, a yellow pad?, or work the product longer?
please help......

Pay no mind to the spots, i think my camera lens is dirty,LOL

as a polish dries or "flashes" it becomes an almost talc consistency. Wiping it off while still a paste could actually be wiping product before its abrasives have fully broken down.

Your hood made a great improvement. That looks like a Chevy. I would venture to say if you want to get all of your scratches out, you need a rotary and Menzerna polishes. I used the XMT line once and wasn't really happy with it. I just ordered the Menzerna ceramic intro kit today. If you read some of the posts, you'll find out that Chevy's have a hard CC, not as hard as Vettes, but still hard nontheless, and you need a good compound and polish for them. Stay away from the yellow pads, you don't use those unless your paint is oxidized. You could always go over the hood twice with XMT2 with an orange pad then a white pad. Then use XMT1 with a white pad, then the glaze with the gray pad.

As for the Menzerma products that's what i have been learning with on my vette .First the SIP then the Nano so far so good also tried using both my PC and my rotary figured what a car to learn on LOL .Have you looked into any products you would use after the SIP and Nano are applied or any suggestions ??

Try some natty's blue or Souveran or treat your vette to another brand of high end wax. Out of those I would chose the ease of use of Souveran and the wetness it leaves behind.
