Hey there guys, my name is Tien. I posted awhile back ago about getting some details product for my car, but evidently i ran into alot of family problems and left that aside. I currently own a 2003 Evo8 weightless white. I am 19 years old and i have own this car for 3 years already. My first car was an 03 honda s2000 and i respect my cars because i paid for it, not your ordinarly youngins. I am planning to start detailing my own car on the side as one of my personal hobby. Anyways i am looking to get some good detailing products for my car. Probably have a hard color to detail since it is "white". But i am looking to get everything for it. Basiclly i need the whole deal, from wash mitts to soaps or even foam guns. I am also looking into getting a porter cable im noticing swirls and such on my paint is starting to develope more and more. Like i said before i need help putting together the complete kit. I also need somestuff that refurnishes my blackplastic that faded on the exterior. Wells fellas, i am all ears. looking forward to hear alot of advise. And if there is anyone detailing in the San Diego area that details your car often, let me know! i am willing to stop by and learn.

Also i have claybar my car in the past and waxed it alot. Just some otc stuff, has been a year or two though fyi.

Welcome to the forum man! I would get some Menzerna SIP and Nano, along with a lot of the Lake Country CCS pads...get multiples of the orange, white, green, blue, and maybe even some red. Foam guns are pretty cool, I'm going to be getting one in the near future. Stock up on some microfiber towels...as many as your heart desires. Use the two bucket method...you can pick up some 5 gallon buckets anywhere for cheap. Get you a good car wash shampoo. You can get something like Megs Gold Class if you want it OTC. The PC is a good tool for beginners. Also, get a good LSP such as Natty's Blue or Souveran of Rubbish Boys. Most of this is for the exterior. Let me know if this helps any.

Good advise, but get some clay first. Check out the PC package at Autogeek with 5.5" pads.:welcome:

i saw a thread recently here or on Autopia that said something like "put together your dream order" or something to that effect. There were some pretty nice lists in there with everything to get started.

Otherwise welcome...put up some pics, search around, get out your credit card!!!

Clay is a good thing! I can't believe I forgot haha. Mother's is a great clay for OTC. I've also heard good things about Pinnacle Poly Clay and Riccardo.

yeah i've used mothers clay a couple of time and i had great result with it. i am looking deeply more into a PC kit. I need something for my plastic trim because i think i waxed over it and it looks kind of faded. also is a foam gun better than the 2 bucket method and etc?

Hi Tien, I started making a list of things for you but I had to abandon you when my Internet went down last night. Let me see if I can start over.

I'm going to list items only from Autogeek to make it easier for me. If anything seems expensive, there is like a 100% chance that there is something cheaper available on the site.

Wolfgang Half Gallon Foamaster Foam Gun - $70
DP Xtreme Foam Formula Auto Shampoo (2) - $16x2 = $32
5 Gallon Professional Wash Bucket w/Grit Guard (2) - $20x2 = $40
Cobra Blue Micro-Chenille Wash Mitt (2) - $10x2 = $20
Professional Bug Sponge - $4
Mothers Tire, Wheel, & Well Brush Kit - $15
Cobra Guzzler HD Waffle Weave Drying Towel - 2 for $30
Cobra Yellow All-Purpose Microfiber Towels 6-Pack (4) - $80
Pinnacle Ultra Poly Clay - 2 for $35
DP Final Gloss Quick Detailer - $16
Duragloss Polish & Cleaner #101 - $10

Grand Total: $352

That's enough just to get you started on the exterior. :D

Look at the pc kits with Menzerna and 5.5 inch pads. You are going to need orange, white, green and blue pads. I would say to have atleast 5 of each color. Also you want some nicer microfibers than the all purpose ones, look at AG's 530's.

dont really have a budget, i am eventually going to buy it all.

haha tell me about it guys. i am going to purchase alot once school calm down a little for me. any good lighting you guy recommend and such?

Get the twin 500w halogens at Sears or Home Depot.

thanks, what kind of pc kit with the menzerna?

up for some advise on menzerna products.

What kind of advice do you want? Look at the 5.5" Pad kit on the Menzerna page. It's a great kit. Menzerna SIP is a great product. Everyone on here loves the stuff, along with Nano. 85rd is also a great product...but check out that pad kit that Asphalt mentioned.

Yeah i checked it out, there is alot of kits, example ceramics, polish, etc. which would be most suitable?
