Hey folks. Long time lurker, first time poster.

I have a 2008 Nissan Altima Coupe that was purchased in August of 2007, this will be the second winter it has been through. Last year I purchased a PC and some pads to do my detailing with. I had great results.

Here we are nearing the end of the winter and I'm looking to stock up on some products to make my car look defect free.

What would be the best polish for removal of swirls on a black vehicle with year and a half old paint?

-Tyler

Personally I like the menzerna line of products(SIP,106FA and 85RD). Others are having great results with Megs 105 and 205. It doesn't matter how old the paint is, rather, what condition is the paint in.

I'd agree with Loudog, you can't go wrong with Menzurna or Meguiar's.

There you go again! Pushing Meguiar's again!
(Ha ha! Just kidding! See at the Meguiar's Detail Class!)

Menzerna has great polishes. Intensive Polish & Final Polish II are a great combo. I've also used Zaino Fusion with great success, but it's a bit pricey at $12.95 for an 8 oz. bottle.
I recently bought Meguiar's SwirlX in hopes of being able to eliminate swirl marks with one product as opposed to two (e.g. IP & FP II). At $6.97 for a 16 oz. bottle at Wal-mart, I thought, what the hey! Meguiar's has never steered me wrong!

Since your car is black, I'd do the the IP & FP II combo. Just my personal preference.:buffing:

The PC 4" pads, Meguiars 105 and 205 or 83 and 80, Prima Swirl and Finish or Menzerna SIP and 106ff all work grea

I just purchased those Menzerna products for my black BMW actually.

Never found a black car that failed to look better after a polishing with Menzerna. SIP and 106FF or IP and FP depending on hard/soft paint.

didn't have anything to say--just wanted to see if I could get 10 in a row--BINGO

Menzerna SIP/106FA/85RD followed up with Wolfgang Paint Sealant with something like Natty's Blue of Pinnacle Souveran and you won't be happier! :D

used menzerna SIP, 106ff, and po85rd with wolf gang paint sealant followed by fuzion on my personal metallic blue m3 and it came out great.

Any thing that has to do with cars. There is such a big learning curve.Just don't know how much patients i have left.

I would like to add PB's Black Hole Glaze into this conversation. Does a nice job off adding some depth to a black finish after you have removed the swirls.

Pat.
