Does anyone else have crappy or touchy paint?

So I recently ordered Some KAIO and KSG and decided to try out KAIO this weekend on my car. I first tried it with a cotton applicator per the instruction, and that left some very noticable marring. Then I tried it with two different foam applicators and while the marring was less than the cotton, my finish still looked marred. WTF! I've also found this issue with a few other AIO's or pre wax cleaners like Dodo Juice Lime Prime.

Does anyone else have paint as sensitive as mine? Drives me nuts!

I didn't have much luck with the KAIO either ,I use it for glass and some door jams so far .I think that it may good on a brand new car that's swirl free

Well my finish was swirl free until I did a test spot with it. :D

Never used the KAIO but the paint on my Honda SI chips down to the metal from rocks. On my last SI, when the paint chipped I would at least see primer.

How the hell did you finish swirl free if something so gentle as kaio marred it? Black honda paint isn't even that soft.

Kaio doesn't even have abrasives. Man I feel sorry for you. That would drive me nuts

Menzurna Nano, PO85RD, M205, M66, and ColorX are all products I've found to work well on my paint. Maybe it has something to do with the type/shape of abrasives in them???

I've also found Honda/Acura paints to vary depending on the models. The clear on my girls Black RL is much harder than my TSX or even the Black TL I did a while back.

All great products what about the Micro fibers your using

Maybe there was contaminants on the foam pad. Dust build up maybe? I keep mine in a ziploc, were yours out in the open? I just don't get how a chemical cleaner could cause marring. I think it may have been the applicators

I felt my '06 HRP Si paint was better than my TSX paint....though both do seem to chip very easy.

Nope, all brand new pads. I had some cheap cotton pads from auto store, Megs yellow foam, and some green and red applicator I got with an order that has the finger pockets. I was able to use the same applicator with M66 and remove the marring KAIO left.

I know KAIO says chemical cleaners (as do many others), but I think there are actually very mild abrasives in them. Just my $.02

Maybe the AIO didn't cause the marring but removed potential fillers hiding them?

Nope, the finish was swirl free prior too it. That and the marring was less with the foam applicators.

LOL, I think this thread went in the wrong direction. I was only trying to see if others have had similar issues with their paint, that and going off on a little rant. :D

I know what products I can use to make my paint flawless....it just makes me mad that it's so prone to marring, which really limits what products I can or cannot use. :(

RaskyR1 and to all onlookers. Is it possible that the KAIO is pushing around product already on the paint and maybe you should have stripped the surface clean first?! You're clearly using top shelf products as it is and I know you know what you're doing but... is this a possiblity?

I experienced that same result from KAIO, its now on a shelf somewhere in the garage, the only AIO I have had that turned out to my level of satisfaction is XMT 360, sure the durability isn't there, but given the fact its a AIO and the end results look fantastic for a quick clean up on a car.....

Sure it's possible, bit would that result in the appearance of marring?

Rasky I believe you may not have a BC/CC paint. Honda is still notorious in the tuner groups for having two identical colors that are handled completely different. I can't remember if the Acura Milano Red is SS or BC/CC. I know the red on the 08 Honda Accord is a SS paint...

Same thing goes with Championship White and Taffeta White. The Taffeta is a SS paint.

I had the same exact issue last summer, had to Flex it out as I did a small portion on my trunk. Only use Klasse on my windshields now. I have a 2006 Honda, color is Royal Blue Pearl that shows off every swirl mark possible.
