Pads for deep swirls?

I figured I might get some more responses in here. I am looking first for pads for light to intermediate swirls for my mercedes. Next I am looking for pads for HEAVY swirls on my parents car. Any suggestions? Im new so Im not sure where to start.

I was thinkng Yellow to Orange.

Get both and try the orange first....5.5 or smaller.

Asphalt.........quick question, which pads do you think are better for removing swirls and light scratches...the regular wool pads or the Lake Country Foam Wool Pads

Yeah but remember his been using wool since they took off a sheep right in the meadow LOL .And when he started using them they didn't have foam pads Im the MAN

How about a compound? I was reading on another site about Mezerna Power Gloss? Would I need that?

Wool pads are just like foam, they have different levels of cut. While Asphalt and others love full wool pads, the LC PFW pads are a very good pad and have a big following as well. Either way, I would recommend one or the other over an orange pad. And stay far far away from the yellow LC pad. It will make a mess of the paint. Wool (full or LC) will remove defects better while keeping the surface cooler (important) and finish better than orange and yellow. I use and love the rest of the LC pads, but despise the yellow and rarely use the orange.

If the defects are bad enough to require a compound, M105 is about the best thing going. It works extremely fast, cuts very well and leaves a great finish for a compound. Some people had problems with the learning curve for the original version though and prefer the new and improved version with a longer working time. I had no issues with the original and prefer it. YMMV

Im sorry for sounding like such a rookie, but I feel its good to ask questions. If Im using the PC, can I still use Wool? Also, Do I go Compound(If necessary)->Polish->??? ->Glaze->Wax/Sealant? I really am sorry for all of the questions.

I will post pics when I get back home from school so you can see if the swirls are as severe as I think they are...

Don't feel bad about asking questions that's why you joined a forum.As for the wool PWF it will work on a PC just not sure how long it will take when using something like Megs105 to remove the swirls.Try it and test thats th best way .I used the wool on my rotary it works very fast to remove the swirls,you may need to do more then one pass with the Pc.

I dont need to sand unless I can feel something with my nail correct? Also, Should I start intensive polish (Mezerna) and see if I can get the deep swirls out and if not go for a compound?

If you can feel it with your nail it is a deep scratch and won't come out .it also depends on how deep.You can start with Menz SIP then nano the 85rd.The problem is how hard is the clear coat and if a PC will correct the swirls.

You are correct, and also there was no forum either so you actually had to think to figure things out on your own. I just don't know how I did it without the forums.
