Deep Gloss Auto Salon
2001 Ford Focus

This vehicle belongs to a young lady that is in her 1st year of college. As you would expect, the paintwork on this vehicle was in horrid shape.
I decided to use M105/M205 and the Kevin Brown PC (Flex) method on one half of the car and my rotary on the other half using SIP/106ff.
Obviously this was not a detail in which perfection was on the docket but, I found it “post worthy” because it is a vehicle that the “Average Joe” can afford and it is also in pretty typical hammered shape, just like 90% of every vehicle I see on the road.
Apologies for the lack of sun shots but it was quite late when I finished.

I think the young lady is going to be thrilled inside and out. Dam that interior was nasty. Good work man

So what is this Duragloss Enviro-shield? Something new comming out? I love DG and am just curious on how this "new" product worked.

Great work. Hopefully she will take a little better care of it this time. Oh wait, maybe not, then you will have a repeat customer.

Fantastic, I am continuously amazed at the things you pros can do.

Nice work!!!

Thanks!

Yeah, she was very happy... Thanks!

DG Enviroshield is a product I am doing some testing on, I am not sure what plans they have to officially release it..

Awesome work! Interior looks new again.

Thanks!

Thanks... to be honest, the overall condition of this vehicle is what 90% of all vehicles on the road that I see look like. I think the people like you and I that frequent these forums are truly the exception...

Thanks!

Wow great job on the Focus. It is nice to see a comparison on M105/M205 KB method and SIP/106FF. I am not sure if it is the angle or it’s because of the different products used. The picture with the SIP/106FF appears that the metallic flacks on the paint stand out more then the pictures done with the M105/M205. Although the pictures with the M105/205 does look warm and deep.

great job, I have not noticed any posts from you in awhile. I all ways like to see your work.

which product line for polishing did you prefer ??? I have heard the SIP/106FF finishes down better and glossier than 105/205, any thoughts ?? Let us know your thoughts ,,, please !

I would agree that the SIP side looks better.Job is just awesome for sure.

I would to see 85rd on one side and UF on the flex side .Would like to compare those two products.

Funny you noticed the flake, as it turns out, the drivers side is has no flake but the passenger side does. I asked the owner if it had ever been re-sprayed and apparently it had not.. Interesting.

Thanks... Yeah, not much correction work for me in Michigan during the winter.... wash & wax jobs are not much fun to post for me!

I have many more hours logged on the makita with the Menz line and I think that comfort factor inclines me to it. The M105/205 combo is nothing to overlook and I will be playing with it a bit more but as it stands now, I do not see it replacing space on my shelf currently allocated for Menz products

Thanks Harley... I have compared 85rd and UF and prefer 85rd.. UF works a bit quicker but I like the longer work times. I feel it gives me time to really play with the process of fracturing the abrasives and then really burnishing the finish to a very high gloss level

Looks great Jason and glad you are not buying into all the hype. I have played around with the system and the rotary has a better finish, also M205 does not finish as nice as othe finishing polishes. For someone just learning the kb method would be nice, plus you have to applaud someone that puts that much thought into a process and gets decent results with a pc.

thank you for your honesty. It is unfortunate that so much hype goes into certain new releases. (I consistently have to read who is commenting on it, and value your opinion as well as AR). I have found to date Menzerna has stood the test of time (three years +) but more than willing to replace when/if a better combo comes around.

To be honest guys, I wouldn't call it hype...

If you are not proficient with a rotary and as such, do your work with a RO, you will never have seen results with your RO so quickly when using the KBM. If youn are working on paint that wants to holo' up very easily this method would also be a great answer.

It is not hype, it works BUT, I really enjoy using a rotary and thus, have not picked up my RO (Flex) in almost a full year so it was quite an adjustment to hop on it. To me the rotary is just easier to control and play with the polish and/or compound to get the desired results

I think my comments came out slightly amiss. It is unfortunate that with alot of new releases also comes alot of hype. Thus I am skeptical of some new releases. I do believe that Megs has made a worthy two punch (105/205) but have to push thru all the comments on other boards saying its the best ever to find some (like you) that will call it like it is. I am looking for something to replace SIP/Nano as king of the mountain in polishes, not an equal or something close. I guess I am still just over enamored with the Menzerna polishes.

I understand what you are saying... As much as I absolutely LOVE the Menz line up i will always have M105 stocked on my shelves
