Never used a sealant before and I'm looking for a durable product that gives a good shine. Any suggestions??? Its for my daily driver... 2005 Honda accord. I would like for it to last 4+ months.

Have considered the EX-P, and Klasse. Wolfgang 3.0 deep gloss seems like its the best from reading but im not sure if its worth the money since durability is more important to me in Chicago. HELP!!! theres too many choices! Thanks, John

John, how much $$$ are you looking to spend? If you want to go cheap, apply a coat of Duragloss Polish Bonding Agent #601, let it haze over, and withOUT buffing off, apply a coat of Duragloss Total Performance Polish #105. Let that combo haze over and buff the whole thing off.

Super durable protection for a low price and not much work...a damn decent shine, as well.

Agree with the Duragloss. Use a good pre-cleaner (Pinnacle) then do what Emile said above. Looks awesome on black, especially at night :) and for durability its one of the best. Have applied the DG 105 both with and without the 601 but would suggest using the 601. Very cost effective also. Thats my .02 cents

Well it doesn't have to be dirt cheap... i'm ok with spending more if its worth it. Would you still say to go with the duragloss? or something else?

With the mentality in the US I truly believe DG is doing itself a dis-service charging less than the flashy name brands. Give it a flashy label and a super high end price and watch its sales triple. But thats what I love about DG. They work as good, if not better, and they still keep it real ;) The pitbull of auto detailing. I actually have people come up to my black maxima and want to touch it. They think it unreal and that there finger will literally sink into the deep black paint lol Everybody has an opinion. You can't go wrong with any of the products the site offers. But I must insist you give the DG 905, 501, 601, 105 a shot. And there FCAS QD is a must for in between quick detailing. Makes FK 425 look like an OTC product :)

You are gonna need to do 2 coats of Wolfgang 3.0 to last it that long.
But if you are really looking for durability, I'll suggest Klasse Twins (like Scott mentioned) topped with 2 coats of Collinite 476S. Dude, that's durable...
Or DG #601/105 combo, topped with 2 coats of Collinite 476S...

Optiseal is easy but won't get you anywhere near 4 months. Klasse twins, or Zaino and even Collinite.

Four Star Ultimate Paint Protection. Very easy to work with and VERY easy to remove. Looks great, price is nice and will bottle will do many applications. Lasted me the winter in NY, still beads.

Four Star Ultimate Car Care Products

its such a hidden gem ... more people should try it. Ease of use, great looks, and more than decent durability. Kinda a clone for Zaino too :D

I agree with you, but come on, FCAS will make FK425 look like OTC product! I have the whole line and think it is a great product, but I still like FK425 over FCAS. FCAS is more like ONR (QD strength) IMO.

:iagree::cheers:

Opti-Seal looks great, simple to use and is super slick. Durability is not that great but it only take 15 minutes to apply and buff.

Klasse AIO/SG is awesome and the durability is second to none. But SG is a real pain to work with even if you use the same method as above with the DG 105/601.

I have almost all of the DG line (and I don't use any of them anymore), but have never tried the 105/601 combo. It seems to be highly regarded around here and is as cheap as they come.

My recommomendation would be AIO topped with DGPS (1 or 2 coats). That will give you great results and excellent durability. You can optionally top that with any Pinnacle wax, Collinite or Optimum Car Wax.

I have to disagree with the FCAS being the same as ONR though. FCAS has almost no cleaning ability (whereas ONR is cleans great) and has durability good for about a week (ONR leaves behind no protection). Sure FCAS leaves behind some slickness and shine but it will wash off completely in the next wash. Unless you guys are talking about Optimum Instant Detailer & Gloss Enhancer which is pretty similar to DG FCAS. Just my opinion though, if you like it, use it.

Maybe I exaggerated a bit with the OTC comment but, IMO, FK 425 couldn't match the gloss and wet look I get from DG FCAS. I used FK 425 for a month before trying the DG FCAS so I am speaking from my personal experience. But thats why there are discussion forums. Lets you see things from more perspectives than your own. Also, the anti static claims made by FK seem to not be what I thought it would. I would literally go overnight and have a layer of pollen so thick my black car looked like a yeloow car. FK 425 did absolutely nothing to repel even the slightest bit of this. I switch over to DG FCAS and the results were noticable. Not 100% but close. Thats just my personal experience. :)
