Paint depth gauges

My Highline Meter II PTG will be here tomorrow. I will post a review after I've had a chance to play around with it for a while. ;)

Please do. Looks like I'll be getting one later this month. Got my first request to do a classic car with original paint. Told them I wasn't TOUCHING it until I got my PTG.

Come on man.. quit teasing! Go put in on the car and tell me how it works! Test it on the door jambs, bumpers, and all those other fun places and see how it reads...

(nothing like demanding SOBs on the intarweb!)

LOL. If I wasn't at work I would. :D

Maybe I will try it out over lunch time. Looks like it switches from mil/micron and Fe/NFe at the click of a button. I thought I read it had to be sent in on the older version to switch units.

I got readings on my exterior from 105 to 130 microns. and 50-78 microns in the jambs. Only did maybe 10-15 spots though as I had to get back to work.

SWEET!!! So maybe 50 microns of clear on the car. That is the kinda thing I'm looking for. Does it come with a block for calibration?
