My 2004 Expedition is solid black. I have washed, applied Meq's Deep Crystal polish followed by a coat of Nu Finish polish. I am planning to apply a second coat of Nu Finish and follow that with P21s wax. Now for the questions.
Do you pros think this is a good combination?
Did I commit a sin using Nu Finish? ( I ask for forgiveness if so. )
Should I use a different product for the second coat?

What would be the best to use on exterior trim like Side mirrors, trim around windows, running boards, etc? I do not want a slick finish on the running boards but sometthing that will give me protection and longevity.

Thanks for any input

Dont like NU-Finish and cannot see it layering. It sold as a once a year car polish that chemically strips oxidation. If we consider Klasse AIO which offers similar benefits (well not a year, which is bogus anyways) it does not layer due to the chemical stripper which not only removes oxidation but old wax/sealant.

You could likely top with a pure carnauba or pure sealant as wanted for better looks. Locally you might find Megs Yellow Wax or Mothers pure paste until you can pickup something like DP Max Wax, Pinnacle SSII, or even Poorboys Pastes as wanted which are all great toppers.

Was actually going to post a question on this "Nu Finish" product. My sister uses it and every car she has use it on has eventually oxidized over the years. She asked me my opinion on this product and I did not know. I told her to throw it in the garbage and I would send her DG 105 or Klasse SG. Anybody else know about this product? Sorry, not trying to hijack your thread but it looks like you might need to also know more about this product.

Use an AIO like Killr suggested and dump the Nu finish. P21s is a great wax. Poor Boy's Trim Restorer should work great on your trim work.

I just sent the Nu-Finish to the hereafter. I have one coat of it on the Expedition. If I put a coat of DG 105 on top of this and follow with Collinite 845, will I receive the thumbs up from the pros? I am in central Mississippi. I need some good protection on this black vehicle. Summer sun and heat is hell for 2 months. Heat indexes over 110 are not uncommon. I plan on doing another "detail" in Sept. or Oct. Will use DG and Collinite only then.
Thanks for the input putting me on the right track.

P.S.
I plan on being on the Miss. gulf coast in May for four days. If anyone on this forum has a shop in the area and wouldn't mind me stopping in please let me know. I would like to see how it's done by the pros.

I would remove the NuFinish when possible, till then a coat of any pure sealant will help till time is on your side.

Thanks killr
What would you recommend to remone the Nu-Finish with?

Go with what josh said. If u have never clayed before u will be amazed at what u pull off the paint.

Thanks killr
What would you recommend to remone the Nu-Finish with?

a polish (mechanically abrades paint) , a chemical cleaner (Pinnacle and P21S) , or 3M Wax and Adhesive Remover.

Thanks for the help guys. It's really appreciated.

Your plan of DG105 followed with Collinite 845 will probably be a great look with a lot of durability. +1 here for the claying. After that DG105 has light cleaners that may take care of the rest of the NuFinish. If not Go DG 101/or 501; then DG105; then Collinite845.
