Nice day to try an engine detail. Used ARO, and some 303.

looks great, I love doing engine details for customers, they always seem to be very impressed.

rcg,

Could you please post your steps in completing this engine detail? I'm interested because I also have a Honda/Acura and am concerned about keeping water from seeping into the electrical connectors:eek:

I first made sure I covered the alternator, and fuse box. I checked around and looked to see if there were any plugs or other connectors that looked open, and only saw 2. So I wrapped them in tinfoil. I then used a hose and hand nozzle, set the nozzle to a gentle rain, and wet the engine down. I then applied the ARO, and let stand for 2-3 min, and used a brush on certain areas. After that i rinsed of the engine. I dont think using a pressure washer is a good idea. I then used a compressor to blow all excess water out from all the cracks, and other spots. I took off all the tinfoil covers, started the engine, went for a 5 min drive. I let the engine cool down, then applied 303 to all the plastic parts, and spray wax to the painted areas. Was not as hard as i thought it would be.
