My Flex 3401 came in yesterday. Thanks AG!!! Now all I have to do is figure out how to use it with my SSR 2.5, SSR 1, Pro Polish, Natty's Blue & Spray/Gloss. I have never detailed a car in my life. Now it's time to learn!

Congrats on your purchase. You will get the hang of it just take your time

Im jealous lol, congrads on the Flex it is a great tool

If you want us to walk you through which products, with what pads and on what speeds, just give our tech department a call and you can take notes! They are always happy to help out.

It's not bad learning. I just got mine on wednesday, and never done paint correction before. I just finished detailing mine, gotta do wax tomorrow, and I bet I got at least 90% of the scratches out. Could've done more but real easy to get tired. The flex is a beast! Two bird etchings, almost completely gone. I had to go over them several times, before I finally got it to start taking it out. Was to worried about burning the paint. Don't forget your paint sealant.

Congrats on your flex. Be sure to clay before polishing. Good Luck!

Be sure to tighten the center bolt and oil the felt ring.

With those three pads you can do a good 3 step paint correction process but you will likely need to stop and clean your pad a couple times during each step.

I like the XMT Pad cleaner, it works very well but I suggest picking up some Snappy Clean packets too.

I was looking at some of the Menz products. Is the Power Finish any good or should I just get some SIP & NANO Polish???

My order including Power Finish should arrive within the hour, haven't used it yet.... I hear the truck BRB

What other pads would I need? I have a 99 Cougar that needs a lot of correction. I was looking at using M105 & M205 but read that you need to prime the pad first & have no idea how to do that. What other swirl removers could I use to get the best results with the least amount of time???

How many different pads do I need for my own cars? Here is what I got.
FLEX XC3401 VRG Orbital Polisher Kit with Free FLEX Polisher Bag, FLEX Dual Action Polisher and storage bag, FLEX bag kit

Do I need a pad cleaner or will the XMT work well?

How long does it take to clay a car? It looks like it takes some time.
Add 3 gray pads, 3 PFW pads and get 2 more of the others you got. 3 of each is about right. I've never used the XMT pad cleaner. I have DP pad rejuvenator and it works great.

Claying time depends on how bad your car is.

Priming the pad means filling the pores with product. Just spread a small amount on the pad before you begin polishing. Rub it into the pad fairly aggressivly. Don't over saturate it.

M105 is a strong compound. Maybe grab some menzerna power finish 203 for the in-between jobs. 203 is diminishing, so you work it til its clear. M105 is non-diminishing, so you work it til you accomplish what you need. M105 need to be followed up by M205 or menzerna 106FA.

Which would you recommend for cars that are daily drivers. I will only be doing my personal cars & no one elses. I don't want to get a lot of differnt products that will just sit on the shelf. I want something that will work the best with the least amount of time.

M105 & M205
WG 3.0 & Glaze
Menz SIP & 106FA
