can you say overspray!!

Whats up everyone.. I had to work on this truck today and it was covered in overspray from the body shop I have been working at.

I used system one polish and it took it out.. but it took me a couple of tries.
My steps.
Regular car wash
Used the clay bar on the entire truck.
Then system one polish with wool pad.
Then system one polish with cyclo machine and orange pads to take out the swirl marks from the wool pad.

Truck came out perfect..but I was wondering if there is an easier way to get over spray off.

No offense but if your body shop is doing that kind of work, it looks like you could have some very upset customers. That overspray was hideous. Good job on doing the right thing, and fixing it.
 
Is that a scratch on the side? Or a reflection of a wire?
 
yeah i have been trying to tell them to fix their booth.. but whatever.. keep getting the cars covered.. i will get the overspray off before the customer gets the car.. but i am charging him top dollar for my time... he wants to make more work for himself.. then go ahead.. not my money.. lol.. to loudog2 thats the antenna reflection not a scratch
 
Looks like the three stooges run that bodyshop.Or what i like to say Stevie Wonder does the paint work and Ray Charles did the prep work
 
haha yeah its pretty bad!!! and there is alot of dirt that gets in the paint when they do it .. cause the booth is not sealed so dust gets in there.. they give it to me to clean and im like.. um.. do you see all of that stuff stuck in the hood ? lol

Not to be rude you need to hit that car with some 105 on a Megs purple wool pad and work it down from there .It's got to work alot better then what you are using now
 
i have been pretty satisfied with system one.. it has been working out for me pretty well.. i was just wondering if there was a way to get the overspray off without hitting it with a wool pad.. the clay bar did not do much.. i think it has been on that truck for a long time.. baking in the texas sun

Did you try very aggressive clay or the fine stuff? I doubt the fine stuff would do you much good.

Right...even though you said you've never used S1, 105 would surely be better!

The guy seems to be getting good results and you are trying to say something is better than a product you've never tried. I'm just not sure what some people have against system one...
 
Here let me fix this, since I have used both. Harleyguy is correct, M105 will work alot better and quicker. I hope this will satisfy whatever problem Flaco has with Harleyguy. The op asked for opinions and he has gotten one, what he chooses to do with them is entirely up to him. Im the MAN

Well let say this .When i want to try a new product i do alot of asking and reading.The people i ask have over 20 years plus doing paint correction.I enjoy trying new products but when i find more people telling me to stay away from a product and save my money .What would you do listen to someone with 20 years or a guy who does detailing as a hobby

It seems to me Donavin is looking for something better. Which would mean he is not overly satisfied. What he is asking makes me think he likes S1, but wants something better or faster. So he asked for opinions. Don't attack a guy for helping out. I haven't used S1 either, and opinions I got said not to. I trust peoples opinions on here. In the end it is up to Donavin what he wants to try. People are trying to help, not hinder. Just my opinion:D
 
Funny that when AG was selling this stuff, there was mostly good press about it...and from reputable people too (like Toto) right here on this site. Toto even polished his rental car with S1 at DF last year, if I remember correctly.

In any case, its not worth arguing about. I still say the best thing to do is try it yourself. What really matters is how it works for you. People have different styles and I think that each polish has its own 'personality'. Some personalities mesh better with some people than others.

its not that im looking for something better. .i am satisfied with system one.. this was just in regards to the over spray.. i was wondering if maybe a different clay bar would do it.. or some type of liquid i can wipe over the hood that would take most of it off.. i was just trying to avoid using the rotary .. does not matter what product i was using to polish..

Something even easier would to tape off and paper the areas that are not painted. Do they have the rolls of plastic that covers cars. All you do is cut the area out that is going to be painted and tape the rest up.
