Okay Folks, Feed back please

I'm about to order myself a Flex. What do you feel I should order with it? Where I live, the weather is always HOT, HUMID, windy, did I say HUMID??? People here in Deep South Texas really do not take care of their rides, so, I always clay vehicles before I use my buffer.

Will my PC pads work on a Flex?

Please let me know so I can place my order ASAP!!

Thanks,

Stephen

I would suggest Menzerna polishes (good op. to try PowerFINISH). If you have the larger 6.5 pads hook/loop (velcro) they should work fine.

Well, I do have several new 6.5" pads and Menzerna polishes. Almost all of my items have been ordered thru Dwayne.

That is why I need to know what I should order since I really will not need any pads or Menzerna polishes. I might be able to use some more Microfiber items. :D

Your PC pads will work on the flex. the flex backing plate is really about 5.5 inches. So technically a 5.5 inch pad would work also, but there will be no padding on the side..

Get a lot of Dp pad rejuvenator, microfiber(wash mitt, buffing, wax removal, drying), soft applicators, wheel gel, car shampoo(good one), wax/sealant

I do not need pads, shampoo or polishes. I could use some more microfiber towels though. LOL

Check BOGO area, I saw Shamrocks, Chenille Mitts, and Glass WW MF towels. Sounds like a plan ...

Yee Hawwwww....

The Flex was ordered today!!! I have have to put the PC away and use it if/when I need it.

Wooooo Whooooooooo......!!!

My Flex arrived late this afternoon. :buffing: Now, I'm missing an extra 2 items. Maybe they will be here tomorrow or by Monday.

I guess I will take my NEW FLEX to a body shop since there is an '03 MB E320 that they owner wants me to do some work to it. Figures the MB is black. This will be a perfect test car using the Flex. Yes. My good friend will be there watching me to make sure you right hand can handle the new buffer. It's nice having a good friend who owns that body shop. LOL

1st. I will do the interior tomorrow. On Tuesday, I will do the exterior. My friend will bring his Cyclo. I will bring the Flex and my PC to test out things, although we will use the Flex on the exterior of the MB. :D

Can handle the FLEX without any problems. I guess I will have to find a new home for the PC I have until I really need to use it.

Oh, btw, I will have pics of the Mercedes tomorrow. I will not be able to finish it today since that sedan needs some good TLC. The DOC will be happy to see it when I meet her at her office around 6PM today. I will get it back from her tomorrow morning.

I am stuck looking at that ring, is that a big rock?!!?:D Was a pleasure to talk to you again on the phone today, take care of that hand! :buffing:

BTW - It was a pleasure having the chance to speak with you as well.

Well, here are a FEW PICS of that MB after I did stage 1 today. I will finish the 2nd Stage tomorrow. Uh, did I mention the FLEX ROCKS!?!?!?!? :goodpost: Oh, I also want to say THANKS to Rick who help a lil and watched me to make sure that darn finger would not have a problem.

You need 6.5" pads, orange and white pads is what I would get. The 5.5" pads fit also, but leaves zero padding protection around the edge of the backing plate
Keep your PC to apply your sealants/wax with. The Flex is NOT the most friendly buffer to apply sealants with, not that it couldn't be done, it's a little too cumbersome for that kind of application...

All the pads I have are the 6.5". Only ONE orange pad it 5.5.

I'm not getting rid of the PC. Since you advised me you use the PC for sealants, I will keep that in mind. If you are using the PC on sealants, what speed do you use? 3/4 ???

The 5.5" orange pad will be great on the Flex for some spot correction, like a tough scratch and things like that...

As far as the PC speed setting to apply sealant, it's a matter of preference. I like to set it at 5 for large panels, and slower like 4 around tight contour spaces, maybe slower around rearview mirrors and such, but generally on 5 for large open panels with no obstructions
