That wet look?

For maximum wetness the paint needs to be in great shape before applying any wax or paint sealant. I perfer using one of Menzerna's micro polishes. Does a great job jeweling the paint. Here's a picture of my Viper after polishing it with Menzerna PO87MC but BEFORE applying any wax or paint sealant.

When the paints in great shape to start out with applying a wax and/or paint sealant adds a little more wetness/depth and of course protection to the paint.
Awesome, Gary. I too use 87MC to jewel down. I just tried Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion before LSP and it left a very noticeable finish. I know you are a WDGPS fan. Try the PPCL before WDGPS.:righton:

i honestly figured that answer would have been one of the first few! lol i was thinking it myself! but i can already obtain that look, just where ever the water beads up before rolling off!:buffing:

Thanks for the nice comments RSurfer and Showroom Shine! Prep does make a big difference.

By chance yours a true hennessey or a late 90's 2000's GTS? a 99-01 GTS is my dream car! Im the MAN
It's a 2002 GTS ACR. 2002 was the last year of the old body style. There were 150 ACR's made in red. The car's all stock in perfect condition.

With WG DGPS after 106fa & 85rd, do you still have to wipe with Isopropyl, then apply WG? I read that WG is Menzerna "compatable"....what does that mean?

Working on a Black 03' Grand Prix that's NEVER been detailed or polished.

I'll post pics later today.

Goodness that Viper looks wet!!!! WOW!!!

For a good wax that's wet looking, I like the P21s 100% wax...Very wet looking indeed

Menzerna polishes are water based vs some of the oil based polishes. Even though there is very little dust with Menzerna polishes I usually just wash the car with soap before applying a wax or paint sealant.

Menz has some fillers, do a IPA wipe down to inspect before sealing/waxing.

I tried an experiment with my old vette about a year ago. After polishing it with Menzerna PO106F I gave it a good wash with Poorboys SS&S. I then did a 50/50 Isopropyl Alcohol/water wipe down on the hood only. I then applied a coat of Wolfgang DGPS and a coat of Pinnacle Signiture Series the next day to the whole car. After 3 months the paint on the whole car look the same, felt just as good and beeded water just as well on the rest of the car as it did on the hood. I have polished other cars since then with only washing before applying sealant/wax and I have not had any bonding issues. It certainly doesn't hurt to do a wipe down after polishing. I don't think Menzerna polishes use any fillers. I believe they use micro abbrasives in a wax or oil emulsion with a water base.

I just finished up polishing my pearl white G35 with Menzerna 85RD and followed up with WGDGPS (2 layers) and a coat of Fuzion. Although I won't
ever get the look of that beautiful Viper, I do feel my paint gets a very nice glow that seems to be the best I can expect from the paint on my car. There are times I wish I had chosen my car in red, it does look so nice when it's polished.:D

Maybe fillers is not the word, but the oils left behind does hide some imperfections. It's not so much a bonding issue as it can hide some marring if not removed with IPA/Prep Sol. I alway's wipe down and inspect in full sun before applying LSP.

I final inspection out in the sun after polishing is a must.
