I don't sleep at night....help please!!!

Well i guess i'll chime in about the hottie too i guess...All i gotta say is the last thing i need is more maintenance but her i could put up with.I suppose if im losing all this sleep i might as well have something to do lol.
Anyway guys back to the topic here.So is the concensus that my orbital buff isn't enough and i need to invest in a proper PC/Flex kit with CCS pads and Better Polishes and compounds? If so which ones would you all recommend for intermediate scratches to the finish product?
The thing is i still don't understand why with the finish product that the black isn't deep dark and rich? I mean the thing looks perfect not a scatch or imperfection on it...and shines great its just not dark.Is it the wax,the process, or something else? This is the problem i'm really worried about, because the hazing and swirl marks im sure i can get rid of with the new equipment.I really wanna get this right because i got two customers in the wings waiting for my services.
I think i'm going to go down to the local junk yard and pick me up a black hood to practice on that way the old lady ain't givin me grief about having her car all day.
Thanks for the posts guys (and the girly pics) keep them comin (no pun intended). No suggestion is to small.

I've notice this on my black colored Toyota and have a theorie.
The pigment is not a true black but a combination of different ones and of course lighting has a big affect on color.

Ya i hear ya Michael...could be what you say but the funny thing is it was pitch black before i started. And the same holds true with my last car as well. Its almost as if when the clearcoat is sprayed on from the factory that any attempt to remove layers to remove scratches and expose new clear underneth that the rich colour is lost for good.Like they spray a fine finish for the final coat over the clear that makes it really pop and give it that deep colour we all fall in love with.Again once you strip that coat off its never the same.Whats everyone else think?

Clear tends to make paint look wetter and deeper. The thicker the clear, the deeper it looks. The more of it you polish away, the more shallow it looks. If you really want a car to have nice paint with no orange peel, then you have to have it custom painted, and tell the painter that you will be color sanding it, so that he will put on enough paint to compensate.

in the right light black almost looks grayish in color. Your prep work is what is going to give you your depth, clarity and gloss. The lsp is basically there for protection. Get yourself a pc atleast and some Menzerna or megs 105 and 205 with 5 inch pads and you will a huge difference in your finish.

I know color sanding is the same as wet sanding, but why do they call it color sanding when the clear coat is clear and not colored?

Sorry. Color sanding is an old term, which meant that you were just getting color on your sandpaper when sanding. It's from when all paints were still solid colors.

You must be as old as me! LOL

Never thought about centering a palm tree reflection on the hood. Nice touch.
Thanks and that tree was about 100 feet away

I'm really curious about something....

Do you guys think the woman in the photo is very attractive, average, or "not your cup of tea"?
To be honest she was very nice and her friend hung out with us most of the day.

I don't find her very attactive. Nice hooters but that's about it. The palm tree is nice!
I rather not comment she may show up this weekend at the two shows going on .

poor girl had a buttherface, everything looks good "but her face"
j/k. i'm sure she's a nice person. i was just poking.

:whs: Once I got a pc, my color popped. The car looks ten times better. Now I have a polisher and it looks better than that.

Surely your wife knows what you find attractive by now! Nothing wrong with saying someone in a picture is attractive or not.

Lighten up a little. This was just my attempt at a little keyboard humor. Been married to th same gal for 40 yrs come December and if I miss seeing a good looking gal in public , she is usually the first to mention that I'm slipping and missed one. A man can't go thru life with blinders on. :D LOL
