I have a few very very fine swirls on my new 2009 escalade. I plan on doing a complete detail with wdgps3.0. Prior to applying the wdgps I was thinking of polishing it with either the menzerma po106fa super finish nano or the po85u final finish. Other than the 106fa being a nano polish they both seem appropriate from what I have read. Which polish would you all recommend that I use with my flex3401. The color of the car is navy blue metalic.

Thanks and have a happy 4th

You can probably use either of them. I just started using PO85

Being that your car is new with minor marring, I would use the 106fa as it has less cut. You may want to get 85rd for a final polish with a blue ccs pad.:buffing:

Thanks,
I am a nube and I apologize if the answer for what I am about to ask is so obvious that it need not be said. Did you mean use 85rd in addition to the 106fa or in place of the 106fa?

This is my proposed plan of action for my first detail. Please let me know if I am missing anything.
1) foam,wash,dry
2) clay car
3) apply paint enhancement lotion (its in the Wolfgang pkg as is the clay/lube)
4) apply menz polish 106fa and or 85rd
5) ipa wipe down
6) wdgps3.0 cure 24 hrs
7) final coat of fuzion

Do you think multiple layers of fuzion will enhance the look or will I be wasting product? Or what about multiple layers of wdgps?

Thanks for all the help

What Ron was saying was to follow 106 up with 85rd on a blue finishing pad. You should always follow up with a finishing polish on a finishing pad.

I thought that the 106fa was a finishing polish I believe that it was called super finish nano po106fa. Is the 85rd a finer less abrasive polish than the 106fa? Sort of a super super fine finishing polish?

Two of each would be great, anything more is a waste of product and time.

Thanks so much to all of you (RSURFER AND ASPHALT ROCKET).You guys realy know all the details about detailing.

Was just lookong at the menz chart. What is your feeling about 87mc as opposed to the 85rd?

FPII is usually used on softer paints like Hondas. I would still go with the 85rd, I have not had any problems using it on softer paints.

Hi,:o thanks for all of your help. It seems that the people in the detailing community are all very helpful and knowledgeable. I guess that FP11 is the same as 87mc. Is that correct?

Yes, same product.

Wow I have not even done my first detail yet and I notice that I have been promoted by ag. I was unclestu (junior member) now I am unclestu (member). I wonder if this promotion comes with any perks. You know in the way of free products from ag.

I personally would go with the 106FA. Your choice? but I would definitely advise you to go with either one or the other...not both! That in my opinion would be a great waste of money and total over kill for you. They both finish down very well as they are both Finishing polishes as you pointed out. If you finished down with 106 then followed it with the 85 I will bet you $100 you will not notice a difference. They both leave a brilliant finish! Good Luck. I recommend the 106Fa because you said you have some light swirls and the 106 may be better suited at removing them as it does have slightly more cut

There is a difference after 106 is followed by 85rd, S40, or Ultrafina. Does 106 finish down nicely, yes, but there is still something left that will be achieved with three finishing polishes I just mentioned.
