I just ordered some LC 5.5 CCS pads and a LC 5" backing plate. I have been buffing with a PC for almost 3 years now.
I have been using LC 6" backing plate and LC 6.5" flat pads.
I am interested in some feedback about the LC CCS pads and the feelings about the 5.5 pads versus the 6.5" pads on a PCDA.
I feel that the time for corrections is a little long with the 6.5"
pads is a little to long and have read a little about some peoples preference with the 5.5 " pads for the PC because the 5.5 " pads spin better on the PC and supposed to spin more freely than the 6.5 " pads. Also, What are the forums feelings particularly about the LC 5.5 " CCS pad for the use on a PC-DA?

Feed back please:dblthumb2:

Anybody have the 5.5" Lake Country CCS pads and using them on the
Porter Cable DA polisher? How do you like them?

There's a couple threads on this topic already. I can tell you read some cuz you said so. Here's my take; I recently switched from 6.5 inch to 5.5 inch ccs pads and it made a big difference for me. My problem with the 6.5 inch is I have a heavy hand and coupled with the size of the pad, the PC's clutch would kick-in and instead of spinning the pad, it would only jiggle. Like a member here said, you end up only spreading the polish but not fully working it. Now with the smaller pad, I work a smaller section (which was a problem of mine), the pad soaks up less product (due to the lower profile) and the PC doesn't bog down as easily (I have to use it at speed 6). Gotta run, that's my .02 cents.

You made the right move by going to the 5.5" pads on your pc. You might want to get some 4" pads with a 3.5" backing plate for even better correction and for those tight areas including polishing your headlights.

Appreciate the info. I have a small backing plate and 4" pads. I use the small set quite a bit. After getting the small set up, I cannot believe I ever did with out it. Great on the grill and tail
section and anywhere the larger set up is cumbersome. I just
have an idea that the 5.5" inch pad on the PC will be less apt to stop rotating. Therefore more efficient correction. :dblthumb2:
