Good Morning!
I have a question about Poorboy's EX-P. Over the weekend I washed and then Used the Pinnacle Paint Cleanser on my car. I should mention this is on a 2008 MX-5 and the paint is in very good shape. Here is the question, I hand applied the Poorboy's Exp using a slightly damp terry cloth covered sponge. The problem I ran in to was there were places on the car where I had a real hard time getting the EXP off. I worked in the gargage, temp was in the 70's I covered the whole car and waited about 30 minutes before removing the EXP. My guess is I got it on to thick in places. I tried to keep the EXP as thin as possible. The car had never been cleaned like this before, could some area of the clear coat need the sealant more than others? Thanks for the Input.

Usually when someone is having a hard time removing dried wax it's because it was applied too thick. Hard to say without being there and looking at it in person.

A couple of remedies,

To make removing what's coming off hard you can mist on some spray detailer, if this doesn't help then you can re-apply the same product and while the entire mess is still liquid wipe it all off. (Like will dissolve like theory).

Or use the paint cleaner to remove the stubborn waxed areas and then try re-waxing again and focus on the task at hand, lay down a thin, even coating of wax.

I'm not a big fan of wetting applicators with water before using a wax or paint sealant as that's like adding water to the wax or the paint sealant. I would prefer to start out using the product heavier or wetter to provide ample lubrication to the surface to make it easy to spread the product out.

Then after you start to work withe the product you'll notice as the applicator pad becomes more wet with the product you're using, (not water), then you'll need less product to cover the same amount of area because less product will be soaking into the pad, (since it's now we with product), and thus more on the surface to make spreading easier.

Thanks Mike;

I had not thought about use more of the EXP to remove the stubborn spots.

Only time I every had a hard time removing EX-P is when it was applied to thick. As mike mentioned, you can use more EX-P to soften up the thick places. As Mike also mentioned, I have also used a Qd'er
to remove thick place. Just commenting in support of Mikes answer.

I also agree with Mike on the aspect of not wetting the applicator with water. I seem to have better luck when I only use product on the applicator.

I won't use a damp applicator next time, and of course I do not have the bottle in front of me ( insert your own frontal lobotomy joke) but I am pretty sure it said to use a damp applicator.

Thank you for all the great information that is giving out here.
