im new i just got a 08 sti.. has some swirls light scratches.. i usually hand wax it but i wana try the porter cable.. which kit do you think would be best for me? thanks

The new Porter Cable blows the old one away. The Griot Garage blows the Porter Cabe and Megs DA polishers away

whats the new porter cable and griot and megs da mean?

DA -- Dual Action or Random Orbital Buffers

Entry Level -- PC-XP, G110
Next Level -- Griots Random Orbital
High Level -- Flex 3401

Nothing wrong with any choice, they all offer alot of rewards when polishing paint.

Is the new Griot's DA that much more powerful (or better) than the new PC-XP and Megs G110?

I'm going out on a limb here and saying yes! I have a Griot's and don't get any of the pad stall (no rotation) with 6.5" pads that everyone talks about. I see no need to run 5.5" pads on the Griot's where it is generally recommended on the PC/XP. Just my noob .02:xyxthumbs:

The thing AutoGeek need to do is make some kits using Wolfgang / Pinnacle instead of just Griot's products.

I still use the original G100
Yes. I used the Flex DA, New porter cable and Griot Garage this past weekend. And I would have to say the Groit Garage is pretty close to the Flex. It blows the others in its class away

porter cable ? griot or meguires? flex is too much money

i never used one of these b4 so what can help me get swirl and light scratches out.. best bang for the buck

well which one should i get

OK Here: Griot's Garage Random Orbital Polisher & Pad Kit, Griot's Garage Random Orbital Machine, orbital polishing kit

Then add these Wolfgang Polishes & you won't be sorry: Wolfgang 16 oz. Swirl Remover Combo, Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover, Wolfgang Finishing Glaze, Wolfgang polishes

Just a suggestion and I don't know if it's possible but I would call Meghan and ask her to to see if you can build a kit using the new Hydro-Tech pads and the Wolfgang polishes. 1-800-869-3011 ext 207

Here are the pads Lake Country Hydro-Tech 5.5 x 1.25 Inch Foam Pads, hydrotech foam buffing pads, Lake Country dual action foam pads,

Add The above Wolfgang Polish Combo
Then add the 3.5." backing plate 3.5" Dual Action Flexible Backing Plate- porter cable 7424XP hook and loop backing plate 3.5 inch. and some 4" Hydro-Tech pads Lake Country Hydro-Tech 4 x 1.25 Inch Foam Pads, Hydrotech foam buffing pads, spot polishing pads, dual action pads and you will be set to get started and get awesome results. This makes it only a two pad system that I recently tested with awesome results. I'm a noob and this combo of pads and Polishes are easy to use and great results. Here is my review

You won't be sorry if you get the Griot's either, it's an awesome machine.

Does that help?:buffing:

Your Welcome,
Yup, that's pretty much it. The Griot's is my choice, it comes with a 6" backing plate so it's about the same price as the XP. Get the pads and polish and a good last step wax or sealant and you should be set to get started.

I'd still call Meghan at the number above and she will give you help on making sure you get the right stuff, maybe a deal too? Also look around here and look at the video's on using a polisher they will help you a lot. here is a little good info. Dual Action Orbital Polisher Guide: how to remove swirls, scratches, & oxidation with an orbital buffer. Porter Cable 7424, foam pads, backing plate,

Keep us posted on what you and Meghan order and how it goes for you. Good luck.:buffing:
