been looking for a solid quick detailer that wont hurt the wallet.

i moved from using the mothers and maguiars quick detailers which feel watery and dont provide must help with removing light dust and light dirt.

to zaino z6 which i feel is probably the best ive used so far, and it doesnt seem to contain any waxes, which is what im looking for.... if i use a detailer i dont need a wax in it, because the car is already waxed, i dont want to layer it with another wax which may not be as high of quality as the one already applied.

then moved on to a local supplier who makes their own, which seemed to work good, but im not too sure about how well it is at keeping scratches from appearing from normal wipedowns.

i like to wipe down the car after a longer drive, or after a couple days of sitting and there is visible dust (black car).

but i need something that will enhance the gloss and/or safely remove dirt and dust without having to worry about the paint being scratched from a product claiming to be safe for dust removal.

so anyone have experience with other detailers that dont contain wax, but clean without damaging the paint?

Optimum QID, and FK 425. Optimum is very cost efficient, and yet very slick, your drying towel literally glides over the finish, and it leaves paint gloving. 425 is very slick, and antistatic.

how come though? how does it compare to the other thicker quick detailers that can actually safely remove contaminants and offer a little more than just a quick shine. its kinda hard to distinguish between the shelf brand meguiars stuff thats meant to catch the eye, and the professional grade meguiars stuff that costs a little more, but offers twice the results.

i didnt think that detailer was capable of being used on a dusty/ lightly soiled surface?

FK 425, Dodo red mist tropical, chemical guys synthetic QD and finally XMT final finish. I use all of them.

My favorites are FK425 and ClearKote QuikShine. 425 has nice anti-static properties which do actually help keep your car from being a dust magnet. It's also very slick and adds some gloss. QuikShine is just the easiest QD I've ever used. No fear of streaking, cleans well, great on windows, very slick.

Believe it or not but the new Clear Eagle One Wipe n Shine is very good . It is getting to be my favorette. I though that the old Wipe n Shine was excelent, but this new clear stuff seems even better. Its easy to use ,it wont streak, leaves a very slick finish , has a very high gloss , and seems to have some lasting qualitys. I cant make it streak.

I have a black car also and always use FK425 or XMT final finish. for my other cars I will use either XMT Final finish or the poor boys quick detailer.

Very easy to use and leaves an awesome shine behind!!!

DP Final Gloss™ Quick Detailer

Currently using FK425, which is really nice, easy to use. I also like Griot's Speedshine. Going to try the DP Final Gloss cause I hear so many good things.

Just got my Dodo Juice Red Mist Tropical like 3min ago. Haven't had a chance to use it yet, but based on all the reviews, I'm going to be blown away.

There are so many awesome QDs from Autogeek... So far I have tried FK425, DP Final Gloss, XMT Final Finish, OID, Poorboys SG & SW, Wolfgang Detail Spritz, and I've been using Griots Speed Shine.

Not one disapointing purchase out of all of them. None have harmed my finish (although that would be more of a user error in my opinion). They're all so good that I can't pick a favorite, but if I had to pick one it would probably be FK425....

Just used my Dodo Juice Red Mist Tropical. The reviews were correct, its amazing. You use hardly any product and it performs amazingly. Not quite sure about the coconut smell yet.

The endless search question. I'm always trying different ones, all of the meg's (consumer & professional) and mothers, griots, Clearkote, Poorboys, CG's, Adams, Purple Slice and a few others. I tend to go back to the Adams Detail Spray most of the time as it seems to have the most consistant results in lack of streaking, cold or warm paint and cleaning vs gloss-ness. However, I'll be adding some of the others I see in this thread next order.

I also have a whole closet full of Qd if you want to try something that really may surprise you and it did surprise me.Try Lucas Slick Mist made by the lucas oil products.
