Quick detailers, what are the favorites and why?

The only one I tried is the DP Rinseless Wash & Gloss diluted as a Quick Detailer...for me works Awesome but I will like to know other opinions from people that tried others...it seams tha FK 425 is a popular choice but it worth to pay the difference? Shipping weight is very expensive for me so that´s why I prefer diluted products but I will love to know your opinions. Thanks!

Optimums Qder+, FK425, FK146 are just a few I rather enjoy and none are bad on the wallet.

FK425 is great for adding that extra gloss as is Quikshine. Megs UQD is great but not what I would reach for when all three are in the cabinet. For light cleaning duties I use Duragloss Fast Clean & Shine.

how come though? how does it compare to the other thicker quick detailers that can actually safely remove contaminants and offer a little more than just a quick shine. its kinda hard to distinguish between the shelf brand meguiars stuff thats meant to catch the eye, and the professional grade meguiars stuff that costs a little more, but offers twice the results.

i didnt think that detailer was capable of being used on a dusty/ lightly soiled surface?
I:iagree: My black Porsche has become a virtual dust magnet since using the Megs ultimate QD. i picked some up locally when i ran out of the Wolfang instant detail spritz that came in the kit that I bought from AG. i think that I am going to try the fk425

Stu,

Get some of this:

Optimum Instant Detailer & Gloss Enhancer Quick Detail Spray, instant detail spray, spray detailer, waterless wash, opt quick detailer

That Optimum works VERY WELL on Porches, Aston Martin and anything else. It worked well on my vehicle when I tried it the other week. I'm hooked on using Optimum now.

My $.02

That's to bad about the Porsche being a dust magnet.Since you take Dana's (ASPHALT ROCKET) advice on things and want to try new things if you like i can send you out a sample of FK#425 if you like??Send me a Pm if you like :dblthumb2:

Why would you use a QD anyway, the Optimum is a great clay lube, other than that it smells good.

Hi! I saw that Optimum Instant Detailer & Gloss Enhancer can be diluted 3:1 with water, how this product compares with ONR or DP Waterless Wash & Gloss when both products are diluted as QDs? Optimum Instant Detailer is best than ONR or DP WW&G? Thanks in advance!

using a quality quick detailer on a clean car that has been 2 weeks out from a waxing will extend the life of the wax currently on it, and add a tiny layer of protection that will also enchance the gloss of the existing wax adding oils back into the carnauba already on the car, as it has tiny pores and should "absorb" the oils that come into contact with it.....

basically its just a quick, cheap, and time efficient way of reglossing between waxes, and good for removing some dust when your car has been sitting at a show for hours and the judges are almost to your spot lol

looks like a lot of people like the fk 425, i may put in an order and see how it goes.

I just started using Chemical Guys Synthetic QD. Love the shine it leaves. Be sure to wipe thoroughly as it can streak. I use it as a clay lube and it works great on door jambs.

I like PB S&G. It gives a great shine, and has some nice cleaning abilities.:xyxthumbs:

i like to wipe down the car after a longer drive, or after a couple days of sitting and there is visible dust (black car).

The above practice is a sure fire way to create swirls in your paint finish....

Before contracting my services, all of my customers with garage queens used to do the same thing you described after a drive...

All of their garage queens were squeaky clean for sure but riddled with swirls from wiping it down when dust / dirt was on it...

The only thing I use QD's for is a drying aid or in between coats of wax when applying multiple coats

So if your car is dusty, do you do a full out wash and dry? Or do you just leave it untill it's time to wash it?

I know what they are suppose to be for, I was wondering why people would use them inbetween washes. All you are doing is moving the dust/dirt around and causing marring. If it has been two weeks you are best suited to wash the vehicle than qd it. As far as adding shine, once again don't see how that is suppose to work if the car is polished correctly this would never occur. A qd is just asking for trouble, if the vehicle has built up dust or dirt you best method is to wash the vehicle, and just like Motorcity said if you don't swirls will be induced.

Either leave it till your next wash or wash it if it bothers you.

:iagree:

I know it is hard to do but you have to ask yourself if getting that dust off with a QD is worth exhausting more clear and more personal energy with the work it will take to polish the swirls out

So if QD'rs are not so healthy how do you guys feel about ONR washes?
