Well I was bored today, and figured what the hell. That machete I found buried in the back of a customers truck when I was cleaning it, I would polish!
Started at 150 grit to remove the years of earth on it! This thing was pited to hell in some areas which i figured it would be. Then on the finishing side, I stopped at 2000 grit because I did not realize before I started that I was out of 2500 and 3000. :(

So before...

Then After!

From all this I figured out three things!
1. I was bored as ####!
2. A polished Machete looks cool as hell!
3. I really need a girlfriend!

So are you going to rotary buff the Corian countertop? I already did the bathroom and kitchen.

Someone please take that machete away from that man. I can see him breaking through a bathroom door, when the cabin fever set in, with a crazed look on his face saying "Here's Johny"LOL
A friend of mine came across an old sword in an garage sale. It looked really bad, as did your machete did prior to your sanding. He did the same thing to the sword. That thing looked brand new when he was finished with it. Unfortunately it was a bit older than he thought. As it turned out it was a officers sword that dated back to the civil war. All of his restoration removed all traces of honest age and several thousand dollars in value as an antique.

That is cool!

I polished my old piggy bank (brass) from when I was a kid, turned out good.....
