I've been using Lexol and 303 protectant on my seats for a long time now, but feel like I need to give them a rejuventation at this point. I have products to clean, but not to really rejuvenate. So I searched around and found it hard to figure out which products are the best, so I have a list:

-Zaino Z10
-Leatherique rejunvenator oil
-Sonus Leather Conditioner
-Leather Masters Leather Vital

The seats are in pretty good shape, but I feel like I can get more out of the leather so I thought I would get some opinions from everyone here since I will admit the interior is where I am still finding I need more experience!

From the various things I have read and from reading results from people on detailing forums, I have been convinced that a "water based" cleaner/conditioner is the way to go.

In that regard, I think Leather Masters is the best choice.

My car is a 1996 Saab with 34,000 miles on it currently so the leather is in really great shape for its age. The drivers seat is getting a bit of wear on the bolster that I think can be reversed or at least diminished if I had a dedicated rejuvenator rather than staying with Lexol as the sole leather conditioner. I basically want to make the leather the best it can be. :)

I have seen many positive reviews on Leather Masters, I will do some research into why water based conditioners may hold an advantage. Do you have any experience with the Leather Masters?
 
I am starting to believe that most all conditioners are really water based. In a previous thread discussing this "wytstang" emailed Rick Vaal owner of 4* about his conditioner and he stated that it is actually water based despite the product info saying it's lanolin based (percentage of oils is very small). I think most conditioners are water based with a little lanolin and or other oils mixed in. Here is a quote from Rick Vaal Owner of 4 stars about their leather conditioner. "Our Leather Conditioner is mostly water based". (despite the product info stating that it is oil based) "The Lanolin is emulsified to stay suspended in water. This is the only oil in the product and the percent is very low. Most protectant products have some sort of oil or polymer in the formula to add protection and softness but are also emulsified to blend with water. Our Leather Conditioner is a very safe product and has been on the market for 15 plus years". I think that most all conditioners have both water and emulsified oils, just some highlight the oils because most people used to think "oils have to be good, better than water". Leatherique for rejuvination .... Einszett Leather Care monthly for upkeep. Both work well even on coated leather which is most often used in automotive settings.
 
Trichard: read that whole thread, definately lots of information. I will have to do some more research into the topic via google or some other means.

killr: does the leatherique still act effectively if you don't leave the car in the sun to elevate the interior temperature? Obviously I would give it ample time to do its thing.

I read the entire thread. I think you must have missed my point; which is that most leather conditioners, even ones that claim they are water based have some amount of emulsified oils in them. Maybe you should reread the entire thread.

I understand the concept and the information you presented, maybe I came off differently in my post. I'm not worried about it to be honest since I am strictly looking for the best rejuvenator, not a normal maintenance product which is why I am so interested in Leatherique. However; I am strongly considering Leather Masters too since I have seen many positive reviews and value your input. I appreciate the advice!

I"ve never used Leatherique or Leather Masters (My leather is essentially brand new) and is only in the by-monthly maintenance stage. However I have heard nothing but glowing reviews of both. I don't think you can go wrong with either, IMO. I am confident you will make the right decision for you and your current needs.
 
I always wonder why we get hung up on using AUTO leather care products for leather interiors. I mean, leather is leather, right? I have used Lexol to clean and Dr. Jackson's Hide Rejuvenator. I use this for furniture in my home and for leather seats in my car. It has been great. The manufacturer warns that it might darken liter leathers a bit because of the oils that are restored to the leather.

Another manufacturer whose products I have used is Pecard leather. I use their conditioner for my baseball gloves. It's great stuff. When I run out of Dr. Jackson's, I will likely try Pecard leather dressing.

Thanks! As always, I'm still learning on the interior since I think I biased on the exterior a bit more haha.
 
I only use 2 leather conditioners. One is Wolfgang Leather conditioner, and the other is Prima Nourish. I have never seen leather look so good since i've used these two products.:dblthumb2:

Cool, I'm up in the air about the differences between WG Leather Conditioner and Pinnacle Leather Conditioner. There is a price difference so is one better than the other?

I have used both and I can honestly say that I like the WG much better. As I stated earlier my seats seem much more hydrated and just look and feel better with the WG. However my leather is practically brand new; Leather Masters Leather Vital or Leatherique rejunvenator oil may be a better choice for leather that may be in need of
rejunvenating , I don't know for sure. But I have heard great reviews for both products. When I use WG conditioner I always turn on my seat warmers and let the seats warm up prior to conditioning (I suppose turning on the heater would do the same thing). I also fallow up the buffing step with a damp buff and another dry buff to really make the leather look nice.

I gotta admit, I really like 1Z leather care!!! That's a great one step product!!!

You should always follow the manufacturers directions. You can use the heat setting on a/c to help in areas where environment is not as hot.
