Rasky's Auto Detailing: 2008 VW R32

Great job! I love that color (mine is similar!). Looks like the car has some mods. Any specs?

Wonderful job as usual Rasky. Almost looks like you even got rid of those RIDS! (no pun intended) ;)

Two questions for you:

1) Do you feel you actually like the M105/205 combo better than any Menzerna combo? I use IP/MicroP right now, and feel that it does a great job. Heck, I even like WG TSR/FG too. But was just wondering if I need to try the Meg's now too.

2) I have a Nikon D60, any tips on how to capture those swirls on film so well like you do? I have problems getting them to show on my photos, but they're definitely there! Esp with the brinkmann that I have. How do I get them to show up? seems like the camera has a hard time getting to focus...

1. I'm not a big fan of the long working time needed with Menzerna polishes. They do work very well but when time is money, that's where the M105/M205 really shines IMO. I do feel that on some paints the Menzurna finishes down better and I simply determine what to use based on my test spots. I think both Megs and Menz are equally good and both excel in their own area. my advice is to have both on hand so that you can tackle any paint that comes your way....throw in some 3M UF too! ;)

2. I'm still very new to the DSLR world, but this link helped me out a LOT. I now shoot in AV or TV mode depending on the shot and my pics have come out much, much more clear. I was previously using ISO to adjust for lighting before and there were times I shot at ISO 800! Now I shoot at ISO 100 and adjust shutter speed or aperture and I think my pics are much better.

Hope this helps,

That color came out great. I love the R32 I wish VW had better reliability rating.

Thanks!

I agree. I love the looks of VW and Audi but don't think I'd ever buy one because of the reliability.

Nice job Rasky

Thanks bro!

Thanks!

Not sure what all it has or the specs, but I did see a Greddy exhaust and a CAI. I think the owner said there was something else done though...maybe some ECU tuning???

my favorite color of blue!!!!!! nice job!!!

Thanks ICE!

Thanks for the info Rasky. I will have to look at that photo link.

I never noticed that the Menzerna lines have a long working time. If anything, the IP that I have actually has a shorter working time, plus it gets dusty a lot. That's the only thing I don't like about it. Does M205/105 have a lot of dust residue? And what LC pads do you recommend for the two?

On the rotary the Menzerna isn't too bad, but on a DA it take quite long to break down. M105/M205 on the other hand you only have to work it until the defects are gone since they use non-diminishing abrasives.

M105 can generate a significant amount of dusting when used aggressively. M205 really doesn't dust at all.

I prefer the Flat LC pads with all polishes. I use orange the most with M105 and white and black with M205. :props:

Great Job on the .:R Rasky ,
I Really Want to Try the 205/105 Combo , i see alot of detaliers use it,

Using a DA will the Megs Combo do more correction than TSR,WGFG When used on Orange / White Pad Respectively
?
