so sunday was the car show. it was foggy and damp out with sunshine late afternoon in forcast. i drove out at 9am 45 min to get to the race track for the show.

when i arrived i had a mess on my hands. i had meguiars detailer with me and a bunch of microfiber. i started low and made several circles around my car with several different cloths to prevent swirling. finally had the car wiped down and went to use spray gloss from poor boys. i had a sample of it so i wanted to use it.

i had used it previously in the garage prior to the show with out an issue

i sprayed the whole hood and wiped it down and imidiatly noticed a hazing over the paint. i wiped it down and finished the hood and fenders.

the sun came out and to my horror. i had blue swirl/holograms all over my car. when i wiped one way they would be going that direction. when i wiped the other way they would change direction. when i wiped it down with my clean hand they would disappear only to re-appear with in 5-15 min.

these pictures show where i had pulled my finger across clearing out the haze for the pictures to show the significant change.

basically i want to know what went wrong. yes it was foggy when i was taking care of my paint.

also i created some swirls. i was going to use the green ccs pad with opti-poli-seal and 205 mixed in to clear out the swirls (its what i saw them do on a honda van @ the shop)

i see no more trophy......did they take it back when they seen the swirls....lol

The high humidity since it was foggy certainly was affecting the performance of the product as I bet the surface had a layer of moisture when the spray detailer was being applied and some are more sensitive to moisture than others.

Another possibility would be contaminated towels but with the fog, I think we have the answer.

Over application ?? Not shaken well enough ??? Environment ??? Many different elements to consider. It doesnt look like swirls , more like streaking.

I would really wonder about the towels. I have also mixed MEGs QD and Poorboys and had a poor experience layering those two. Most importantly though when you work the Poorboys you need Dry Towles !

towels were dry and new (never used) but surface was not dry and was cold too. was dry to touch but i am sure it was damp from the fog. but thats ok. i fixed the issue .

meguiars spray detail removed MOST all the hazing. then i used green pad and opti-poli-seal and a few drops of 205 to help move some tiny spider web swirls from normal wash/dry.

sux though. whole rear of car was perfectly fine. just was the hood and upper fenders

I actually experienced this same issue at DFIII for Autogeek. After the drive we wiped down the car with Spray/Gloss and once sun came up we noticed alot of streaking. We grabbed a couple MF towels (thanks AG) and rewiped with just water and removed without issue.

I believe the issue was indeed the cooler morning, possibly the heat from driving, and somewhat using more product that really needed. That stuff is concentrated.

You might contact Steve or Pockets from Poorboys ... as memory serves they told me to add some distilled water to product and never had issue again. Its a great product so dont give up !
