So I received my SSR polishes and EX-P sealant. While waiting for the products to arrive I decided that I wanted to add a glaze in between the polish and sealant. I would order black hole glaze to accompany the other PB products, but do not want to wait for shipping. Does anyone have experience with products that might be available locally ie. Checker, wal-mart that might perform well with the PB polish and sealant. I was lookin at Megs #7 Show car glaze or 3m perfect it foam polishing pad glaze for dark paint (milano red integra). Thank you for your help.

While I have never seen any compatibility issues to Poorboys, I much prefer their glaze over Megs 7. Its also sealant compatible. Sometimes you gotta wait for something so good.

I find it really hard to purchase any detailing items local, and I live in socal.

Which SSRs did you get? I use SSR 2.5 then SSR 1 before topping with EXP. If you work the SSRs you will not need a glaze at all. I can't answer the compatibility question, sorry. The SSR line when worked properly will leave an incredible finish that will require no glaze. The EXP itself has no fillers but will still hide fine trails left behind after working the SSR 1.

Thanks for the replies, Aside from chomping at the bit to get started, I would be more inclined to order if I didn't end up paying half again the price in shipping. I will have to hold off untill I can place a bigger order. I have the SSR sample kit of 3 through 1. This will be my first time using a PC, I hope to get the "worked properly" part down. Would following 2.5 with 2 and then 1 be overkill?

Well I'll put it this way you follow the 2.5 with 2 so you smooth out what the 2.5 left getting out the big stuff.... than if you have heard of "jeweling" the paint that's what you would use the SSR1 for. Like Dave said you can use a glaze if you want but he's right in saying you can go straight to wax after the 2 or if you want the jewel the paint with a quick hit of SSR1 a very soft pad and some passes with the machine than apply your LSP.

As for the "overkill" question well thats up to you. If you like the look after 2.5 and 2 than go ahead and put your LSP on it :props: Or if you are looking for a little "more" than hit it with the soft pad and SSR1 than do your LSP. Its all how you look at it becasue in the end you are the one driving it and seeing it everyday so you might as well be happy right :buffing:

Anybody see any problems with correcting with Meguiar's M105/M205 and following up with a Poorboys glaze and one of the Natty's paste waxes?

Just curious, why would you need the glaze if the paint is corrected correctly?

Well, from what I understand, both the Poorboys' glazes hide imperfections and improve gloss. I wouldn't be using the glaze for the filler part, just to enhance the gloss.

Just an fyi, if the paint is properly polished the glaze will not enhance the finish, just like your lsp will not, in some cases glaze will actually take away from the finish.

Thank you for the info Pockets I think I have my plan of attack now. That's good info I thought glaze helped to make the paint look deeper and wetter prior to lsp. Hope for no rain MLK day :D.

Np Trackdawson ..... The glaze will enhance the finish on a daily driver type car becasue lets face it it's very hard to get a DD perfect to our standards so I use a glaze to help get me there on my truck. Its a quick step to do that will give a great look. Maybe add it on to your next purchase but if you have the SSR1 available I would just hit it with that so you dont have to buy the glaze but again totally up to you if you do a test panel and say I want the glaze than go for it :props:
