The owner of this Jetta just acquired this guy up and wanted her all cleaned up. It seriously looked like it sat in the desert/sun for quite some time. There were some sections that were severely oxidized, primarily around the door handles. Here's what it looked like before the wash. Lucky for me both of my remote's batteries were dead so I have a gap in my pictures. So I had to go out to the store and grab some more.

The interior needed some attention.

This was the first round of extraction, nice results and I'd freak if that crap was in my carpet and mats.

I ran into a little microfiber problem, as you'll see in most of the after pictures. The tiny specs that look like imperfections/scratches are really lint from my towels. I was driven crazy trying to remove them. One towel, after wiping down the panels, would leave so much lint behind that I would have to get a clean towel just to remove them. Really frustrating, to say the least.

I took measurements of the paint before I started to polish. The average range was from 110 to 130 microns
. There was one spot in the trunk that had below 100 microns, but that was in an area where some heavy RID were.

Nice man. I always anticipate your work. You mentioned the door handles were an area that needed particular care. How do you go about polishing them? In this Jettas case, behind them- in mine, under. Regardless, its a tight, small area. Help?

those 50/50 shots are money!!! These are the kind of details where the new owner goes back to the previous owner, maybe to finish up signing a paper or what not, and the previous owner looks over and sees the car and starts crying. "I WANT MY CAR BACK!"

awesome job on the oil burner. How long did the interior take? 2- 3hours?

Wow, you brought that paint back to life!!! Excellent work & I always enjoy your write-up's & pic's. Thanks:xyxthumbs:

Tornado Red is such an awesome color...when it's swirl-free. My 2003 Jetta GLI is a pain to keep clean.

Excellent job on the turnaround - the 50/50s are amazing!

Wow really nice job :xyxthumbs:

Wish my old Tornado Red looked like that when I was done with it.

What microfibers were you using that gave off so much lint?

Great save! This is the first time seeing your work, very impressed! Too bad the front bumper is chipped up so bad. The outdoor shots are amazing and really show off your work!

Also, in for details on the towels so I don't buy them.

Yeah, definitely a great job.

Thats funny that you listed the Fenix TK10 flashlight. I use my Fenix TK11 for the same thing. . . among others (those are bright ass lights considering there is only one Cree LED blub in there). It does a great job of showing the imprefections, too many in my case.

I am also curious if you have any secrets to share on how you detail the handle areas.

Thank you! Everything was hit with a 4 inch pad. Otherwise I use the lake country CSS foam pads, the orange and the white one.

Great job, car looks fantastic

Thank you!

I know exactly what you're talking about haha!!

Thanks again, interior I think was 4 or 5 hours at the very max.

wow great job was that blood on inside door panel?

Thanks! I hope not! I think it was most likely pop.

Thank you very much!

Thanks man, I'm using Detailer Domain's Uber MF's. They're a hate/love relationship, may have to start shopping around for some different ones.

If you're curious check my previous ones, especially my black BMW's you'll love em :xyxthumbs:

DD Uber towels are the ones I'm currently using.

Yeah, definitely a great job.

These flash lights are such an invaluable tool, I just have to find some rechargeable batteries for them. DSM (Dave) was the one that got me hooked.

4 inch pads, and the Lake Country CCS foam pads, white and orange. Autogeek is where I got mine.

Nice turnaround!

Thank you! :dblthumb2:
