my car is in storage till around spring. last fall i put on the "poorboy's polish and sealant" AIO with "DP MAX WAX" ontop of it..

it would be wise of me to redetail the car once i get it out of storage because its had the same coat on it for longer than 6 months?

and how do i go about getting the old product off the right way?

If it's just been sitting in storage, you shouldn't need to re-detail the whole car. I would just give it a thorough wash to remove any dust....the sealant/wax should still be intact if it hasn't been exposed to elements. If anything, another coat of wax should do, but claying MAY be necessary, depending on what sat on the paint over that period of time. In short, there's really no way for US to tell. I would give it a thorough wash, and assess the paint from there.

does claying the car take off the wax and sealant?

is it true using dish soap is a safe and correct way to remove all sealants and etc?

Claying will probably not remove all the wax and sealant, but it will compromise it. Best just to re-wax after claying. And as far as dish soap goes, leave the kitchen products under the kitchen sink. They don't belong in the garage.

so what is the "proper" way to remove sealant and wax fully?

IMO a wash with some harsher chemicals if you will. The P21S shampoo is a thorough cleanser. I'll clay right after then wash again.(my personal choice). do your swirl removers and polish and go right back to sealant (wait 24 hrs) then have fun waxing. rejex the wheels after cleaning. I'll do this while my sealant is curing.

anyone else want to chime in?

You can always add a little solvent to your wash water and that should get rid of any left over wax/sealant. This is what I always do when I do a clients car for the first time. Then I clay and do an IPA wipedown after that to ensure nothing is on the paint when I begin to start my polishing.
