Wash Me repair

It's been a while since I have been on here but I am in need of some advice. Some guys at my office thought it would be funny to do the old WASH ME on the tailgate of my ridgeline. It has left a nice permanant etching of the funny line. What is my best option to restore the finish without making it worse. I have an PC orbital polisher and pretty much all the compounds that might be needed. I also have the Langka wet sanding kit.
What are the best steps to restore the finish here?
 
I am at the office so I can't check the exact stuff, but I know I have a couple grades of the Pinnacle swirl remover line. Don't remember the numbers. Have to pull out the bin of stuff to get a game plan.

Yeah yeah, it has not gotten above 40 and were getting a weeks worth of storms coming up. New England is not a year round wash area. In the summer I wash it almost weekly.

In a perfect world, I would say go for that. However, to those that don't know detailing, it would be making a mountain out of a mole hill.

His best course of action is just to fix it and go from there.

But, I would definitely let them know it damaged the paint, took hours of work to fix and cost a fair amount of money in product to repair it. Sort of a verbal ass kickin'. Idiots!

I already let them know that I was going to have to work to get it out. They felt really bad and I know it was an honest mistake. Would I treat this similar to swirls and work it out that way?
