Finish Kare 425

Just ordered the FK 425 sample from AG and a Meguiar's Last Touch sample 32 oz. from ADS. I'm going to give both of these a try before I get a gallon of anything. Last Touch seems to have quite a following, and the price is great. Anyone have any comparisons between FK425 and Last Touch?

I, as well as others, have had problems with streaking/hazing with Last Touch. It's curious. Perhaps it's from spraying too much product on the surface, but as a result I restrict myself to using Last Touch as a clay lube and for bird bombs. For all other quick detailing jobs, I use FK 425. Knock on wood, but I have yet to have any streaking with FK 425. It does add some gloss and slickness. I like it very much.

FK425 smells very close to the DP Rinseless Wash and Gloss. Very bubble gum like,

I experienced some streaking with FK-425 on my windows. Not very bad, and if removed quickly it wasn't a problem, but I just thought I'd mention...other than that. The stuff is fantastic. Really adds something to a shine as you can see in my latest Cobalt SS/TC Wash N Wax thread.

:iagree: FK is a little more subtle though.

:iagree: I tried a very light spray of FK 425 as a final wipe on my interior windows, I didn't like it, streaky and needs an extra wipe.

Perhaps this is a topic for another thread but why do you spray anything other than glass cleaner on the windows? :dunno:

I just wanted to try it on the interior of my windows, hoping that the anti-static properties would help keep it clean or be easier to clean next time, or maybe even replace Stoners invisible glass altogether (not very likely). It was worth a try... :dblthumb2:

Because I was using it when drying my car with a microfiber after washing and I wanted to try it out on the whole car to see how it would handle neutralizing the hard water and preventing water spots from my hard GA water. Water spots are almost always worse on windows so I sprayed them with FK-425. My ONR at detail spray dilution ratio worked fantastically on windows and paint but didn't add near as much shine to the paint. Looks like I'll be doing the windows with ONR and the paint with FK-425 for maintenance Im the MAN

Come to think of it, I think I remember someone telling me that they wax their windows for the extra water beading (or something like that). I never did ask if it worked or if it was worth it.

Digging up an old thread. I am about to purchase some FK 425. Do you use FK during the drying process also? I was going to purchase some OID also to use while drying, but I just have 2 vehicles and didn't want to purchase both if not necessary. The anti static properties of the FK is what I am after!

It's the slickest QD out there.

I have used it for drying - that is my primary use. It is awesome - as others have said it leaves a very slick finish on it.. I would not waste my money on two quick detailers - just get FK425. I use about a gallon or so a year of it. I use it to dry the car and for the interior too. The anti-static property is pretty cool - the pollen sort of stays on the car but blows off - looks way different. But don't confuse anti-static with no pollen on the surface. It will repel but in the end you still have pollen.

just a quick hint:

for those that like a more reflective and sealant look but similar anti-static offerings like 425, try 146 (blue coloring). Its not quite as warm looking but another good spray.

I wax my windows, all but the windshield. Water falls right off the glass. Even wax the smooth rubber trim, looks great for a long time. No problems.

That is my primary use for FK 425, pick some up for sure. :dblthumb2:

I've been eye balling 146 for awhile now, sounds like good stuff, will report findings.
