Hi guys,

I have been a member on A world for detailers... for about 18 months now and in that time i have slowly been building up my small collection on products and knowledge on detailing.

Since i know that detailing originated in the US, i thought i would drop by over here to see the products and techniques that you guys use.

I have some pictures of the latest products that i have been trying out on my car which i will post in the relevent section.

I would like to publicly thank junkman for contacting Meghan with regards to my activation.

I don't expect you'll see anything earth-shatterly different. Many of the same products and techniques are used worldwide. You've got some of the best on DW in Dave KG and Clark, as well as many others. You won't hear much about bonnets, spanners and wings here... perhaps hoods and wrenches and fenders.

Welcome to the Colonies.

Welcome Wedgie. Exactly where is Swindon in England?

My only experience with England was when I was on my way to Moscow (study abroad, 1992) and had connecting fights to and from. I thought it was strange that you would need to travel by bus from one airport to another that were so close to each other for a connecting flight. Nonetheless is was a fun experience seeing parts (albeit very limited) of England.

Strangest part I saw was at the airport. While waiting for my connecting flight, I saw regular uniformed police officers walking around holding automatic machine guns. Quite strange for me back in 92'. Now I see National Guard soldiers with M16's at Orlando International. How times have changed......

Swindon is about an hours drive west from London.

It was probably heathrow you flew into (or it could be Gatwick) and it does feel strange having to jump on a bus or monorail to get from one terminal to another..

I was in Orlando a couple of years back and absolutely loved it, hopefully i will get back over next year....(but this time i will be buying some detailing goodies while im out there :xyxthumbs:)

Yeah, those were the airports. On my return trip, I was actually stuck at the airport for about 12 hours because my connecting flight wasn't scheduled until the next day. The seats weren't that comfortable for lying down!

I'm glad you liked Orlando. I like the fact that you can go either direction (east/west) and be by the coast in one or two hours.
If you bought your detailing products while you were here, would you have to pay a lot of taxes/duties on them? I'm just wondering because I always notice a store at Orlando International that says, "Duty free."

Yes by the letter of the law,you can be stung by tax and duties.I know of quite a few mates that have bought high end watches (rolex, teg heure etc) out there, and either binned the boxes or posted them to themselves and worn the watch on the flight home..

where there is a will there is a way :dblthumb2:
