I am still very new to detailing. My question is after i use pinnacle xmt carnuba finishing glaze would i also use a wax? Any recommendations would be great. Thanks in advance. Rob

You would follow up XMT Finishing Glaze with a wax as the glaze will not add sufficient or long lasting protection on its own. As to which wax you use, there are many choices and depends on what you need out of a last step product.

XMT Caranuba Finishing Glaze can also be used in between waxing.

The XMT glaze actually has carnauba wax in it, so you don't have to wax afterwards. According to their website, it's a glaze and wax in one. You can still wax if you want to, but it's not like you car won't be protected without the extra layer of wax because the XMT Carnauba Glaze does leave protection. If you do decide to wax afterwards, make sure it's a carnauba based wax, as most sealants do not bond well to carnauba wax. Also avoid using a one-step sealant/wax as the cleaners in them will just remove the glaze.

I have 3 vehicles.
1- 1985 dodge pickup needs major help, when the shop is built i will repaint it.
2- 1999 MB C230K your favorite color, yes its white. good paint
3- 2000 Ford Excursion 7.3 dark green metalic. good paint

The reason i ask is i am going to order the 7424 as a kit and need to know if i needed to order some wax or sealent.

I am still not sure of the proper steps in the detailing process, there is so many products out there. I had the same problem when building my SBR AR15, to many options all good, but just personal prefrence.

Yes, you will need a true sealant or wax for long term protection. I have now been through 2 bottles of XMT finishing glaze and once time I didn't have time to apply a wax and the beading and protection was gone within a week and a half. It is a very fine finishing polish which will make any color look great (why I have gone through 2 bottles) but it is not suited to be a dedicated protection product.

You should order a wax or a sealant to follow up, if you want recommendations what is your price range for a wax/sealant?
