I washed the cobra microfiber cloths i got from my 2orders - i have 6 in total, 2green, 2arctic and 2indigo. And as i was squeezing the water out of both green mf detailing cloths which came from the megs swirl free kit (aka m105/205 combo) i noticed the sewn edges were loose; the white material underneath the edges are now showing. The arctic and indigo were fine, no trace of shedding. To think that i only hand washed these with soapy water.

That's exactly my problem. I can't, i live in the Philippines. LOL.

Anyway, i guess i kinda missed this on my original post, is it still okay to use it on the paint? Or is it now just good for the wheels?

oh.. then burn them...

I had the same problem with one I got when I ordered 105/205 (didn't realize that was why I got it). First wash and mine unraveled along the edge. The biggest worry I had with it was there was a hard nylon fiber running through the edge. I dont like to use anything that may scratch my car.

Since I did not pay for it in the first place, I did not return it. I'll just use it as a tatty towel and not order the green ones in the future.

I actually just sent an email to AG this morning about this same problem. I purchased the Cobra Multi Pack (12 towels). 4 green, 4 blue, and 4 yellow. I also got 2 Green ones that came with the M105/205 kit, so I have 6 total of the greens that are falling apart. The towels were not used at all but I wanted to wash them before I use them just to make sure there wasnt any foreign stuff in the fibers. When I was done washing and drying them, the corners of the Blue and Green ones were falling apart. Matt emailed me back telling me to call them and they will get it taken care of, but I currently dont have a working phone, so I am hoping to take care of this thru email. If it cant, I guess I will have to get my cell fixed so I can call them. Either way, I dont want to use these towels because of the nylon sticking out in the corners. If you notice in the pictures, the yellow ones held up better than the rest. Here are the pictures sent to AG....

That's exactly how mine looks like. The edges have unraveled terribly.

i can't burn them, i'd rather use them for the nasty stuff. hahaha

Matt quickly took care of me. I will be exchanging my green and blues for yellow ones, since the yellow ones didnt fall apart in the wash

I noticed that all the green detailers MF that I have bought from AG in the last few months have had this unraveling problem which shakes my confidence in Cobra after having so many problems with their 530 and Shamrock towels linting. It is a real shame, I never bothered to return them as you can still find uses for them but it is disappointing nonetheless. That is a bit of a situation you have for returning things from the Philippines! I have been to Cebu and Manila, loved it.

I had the same problem and Matt took care of me also. I've purchased a lot of items from AG and they're all great, except for the Cobra towels. That seems to be the weak link, and I don't mean just the green ones. Everyone I've used leaves a lot of lint behind. I wish AG would carry Poorboy's World towels, I love those things! Too bad Poorboy's shipping charges are bit high.

Yeah it is terrible, but stuff happens, i'm sure it's not AG. Anyway, good to hear you've been to Cebu, it's a nice province, you should've dropped by Bohol while you were there. It's just an hour away on a small ship, and it's way better! Manila is way too populated and polluted, i wouldn't recommend it unless you're going on a shopping spree. Hahah. :props:

I have about a dozen Sonus Der Wunder MF Buffing towels that I have been using for 3+ years. They have seen many many wax jobs and machine washing and drying cycles. They have held up great. If AG stocked these, I would be buying them up and recommending them to all. ALthough, I havent tried many MF towels, so I guess there could be more out there that would make me really happy but I really do like the Sonus towels.

Either way, Matt took care of me and made me another happy customer. I can't say enough about Autogeeks customer service....Top notch!

There's no question that this is a top-notch company with top-notch employees! I should also state that while I've been less than impressed with some of the Cobra towels........the Cobra waffle-weave towels are quite good........no issues with those towels at all.

I wish I could go back! I lived in Hong Kong and Belgium for 9 1/2 years and 2 years respectively so I travelled a lot. I agree with you on Manila though, maybe I didn't think it was that bad because I lived in Hong Kong at the time which is just as overcrowded and smoggy.

Good luck with the towels, nice to see you are bringing some detailing over there!

I ordered a bunch of mango breeze towels when they were on bogo a while back, around 10 of them. After a wash 8 of them had seams that were coming apart, the same with my 3 grey 530 towels and all of my mf applicator pads are coming apart.never even used the mangos and just a couple of the pads

Sounds like Cobra has some issues to resolve. I only have experience with 1 towel. We have now seen issues with several of them.

Maybe Toyota has something too do with this new problem.Maybe a recall is the next stepIm the MAN

Some of them are good, i love my original shamrocks, guzzlers, purple deluxe, and especially the indigo...no problems with these at all.

I also have some green ones that the OP is talking about and haven't had any issues with those..
