Door Jam

I hit door jams with first an Alkaline based acid, then pressure wash then hit it again with a Hydrochloric based acid. I've done countless cars with this technique and never had a problem, I've also never seen door jams so clean afterword.

Oh yes an example of these products on AG are Meg's Green APC, and then Wheel Brightener, although it's not technically a Hydrochloric it does the same job, but a Hydrochloric will do it better.

I hit it with p21s total auto wash, brushes and mf,then to rinse I use ONR diluted for quick detail or PB spray & wipe

I use a shampoo solution and a pressure washer. Then i squirt it with some wd40 for lubrication, and wipe down the excess.

:iagree:Use Aqua Wax on the jams...for those hard to get areas you don't need to wipe off the AW it will dry clear.:buffing:

Are you using only the Aqua wax on the jams, or do you combine it with others? (Adding this to my upcomming order, thanks for the tip about the clear drying)

Use an APC to clean and AW to seal. I do mix FC&S with 20% AW to clean my chrome wheels.

Never heard of an alkaline based acid. Is it not either acid or alkaline...how can it be both?

What do you prefer using to apply the APC & AW? And how about for removal? Can you go right over rubber/plastic commonly found around the jams?

well i have to say i have only been on autogeek a week now, but hands down to the simple answers and not just some rude ass one of clean it duh, i went to wally world and go some big tooth brushes, long handle soft brush for cars, and a smaller brush, i also have ordered online too from here on AG some megs APC i thought about getting the APC+ but i want to try out the new stuff, thanks everyone for writing back and telling me what you use, trail and error well good god i hope theres no error but thank you.

Use Griots Spray Wax or Meguiars Ultimate Spray Wax after cleaning and drying. Both will cover the wire acaordians nicely and of course they are available right here at Autogeek. If I had to pick one over the other it would be the Griots !

How safe would using good quality paint brush(s) be for agitating an APC in door jambs?

If you can find a paint bruse with a non metallic Bristle Wrap you are fine otherwise I would not chance it. Meguiars makes a nice brush with an adjustable bristle firmness. Best brushes ever made we keep them in all the bags and they are all plastic so no chanch of scratching !
