I was out there washing and waxing the car and truck. I just finished and a friend of my roomates' walks up. Fishing for compliments after a few hours on the vehicles I say, "Please tell me they look good."

The guy replies, "They look good. New cars always look good though, give it a few years."

I said, "The car is 9 years old. The truck is 8."

He says, "Wow. They look damn good."

Im the MAN

Although my back hurts, I feel like a million bucks. I'll post pics when I can.

Always makes you smile when someone sees your hard work. Aleve works wonders. ;)

Haha, nice! I guess he didn't know the body styles from this year to a decade ago, but compliments always feel good after so much work.

If it's a nice warm day a few cold draft beers will cure most pain :xyxthumbs:

Nice!!!

I got a pretty good one today. I did an 04 mini van last week and they still haven't drove it after I delivered it because they say it looks better then the day they pulled it off the lot and don't wanna get it dirty :)

That is a cool compliment.

Is this thread turning into what is the best compliment you have received after a detail? Good, cuz I got one.

Very similar to Dwayne's ^^^. I did a one-step polish (PB's PwS) on my cousin's one week old black nissan altima. I almost had to beg him to take it out of the garage that day. He wanted to keep it clean, I wanted him to show it off. He eventually gave in to my demands. :props:

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, but I can kinda see it. The '02 Deville DTS and '03 Ranger FX4 really aren't night & day different from their current counterparts. Given that the Ranger only has 50k on the clock (and although it has some dings and dents, it is CLEAN) and the DTS has 117k but the paint, body, and wheels look new.

Once I get a DA, then I can fix up the light-med swirls, get the paintless dent guy to come over and fix a few in the truck and have them looking perfect.

The problem with the truck is that I only drive it in really bad weather (snow) or when I'm going fishing (4x4 on the beach) so it is a salty nightmare. Every time I go to the beach, I spray it down with fresh water to try and keep the salt from destroying things.

Always nice to feel like you acomplished something. I got a good one recently. Spent a few days going over the chevelles paint and topped it with some souveran. Now its always looked good I was just seeing if I could bring up a few notches. Went to a show and a fellow club member that has seen my car numerous times asked if there was something different about it.
