Deep Gloss Auto Salon: Mercedes Benz SLK in Black

That was a well done write up! Your pictures are SUPERB!!!

Thanks Malachi (love the name, used to have an old friend in Cali that was named that).

Funny you mention the pictures,.... They were taken on my new DSLR and I am a total newb when it comes to DSLR shooting.... Thanks!

Absolutely beautiful.:xyxthumbs:

Thanks you 67!

First time I have posted any comments, but had to say something about that remarkable turn around! That was an awesome job...Before and after we just stunning, a true work of art to bring that Benz back to life...WOW!

Well 1st let me say that I am honored that you decided to make your 1st comment on my post...

Thank you for the kind words!:dblthumb2:

Truely incredible work. Couple of questions, how much time for the paint correction? How much time for the overall job? What make and model power washer are you using? looks like an AW. Once again thanks for showing us what is possible. :xyxthumbs:

Thank you very much

Total job took 20 hours.. Unfortunately I did not keep track of just the correction time but I would guestimate about 14 hours of correction work

I am using the cam spray 1500A pressure washer... It is AWESOME!

Thanks again for the compliments

Jason, very nice work, you show what great prep can do for a car!

Hey Meghan :D,

Thanks for the kind words.... I apreciate it!

Every time you post pics of your work, you put on a clinic for the hacks (and those of us learning ;) ).

Excellent work.

CBlack... Ha ha... now that is classic!

Thank you very much.... if someone can get an ounce of worth from my posts that is just a double whammy of goodness right there!:dblthumb2:

No problem. I am an audiophile for cars as well and hacks are one thing I can't stand.

Plus I had no idea what true detailing was until I saw this site. The pics you and others show of before and after still blow me away. From showing my co-worker some of these pictures, he started cussing me after ordering a bunch of stuff from AG. He's English, so his exact words were, "You bastud!"

Quick question, the CG Citrus wash you foam on, does that strip away the wax, sealant, etc?

How were you able to remove the swirls and scratches from behind the door handle?

Thanks!

I have not seen a car shine like that. on the pics you cant even tell its a car or the color of the car.

Funny story about your co worker....

The foam in addition to the bucket wash usually strips the protection... Sometimes I come across some really tenacious protection and for that I will use Powerclean.

Thanks!

M105/205 by hand with foam pads that I have cut down for this purpose

Thanks Ballfan!

wow...gorgeous!!! i am just starting out, and have yet to go through the whole process....my boyfriend thinks i am being too much of a perfectionist, and should settle for just making it look a lot better than it does, instead of my goal being like your after pics...but when i see before and after pics like this, i feel inspired to keep learning and trying to someday reach this level

What did you use, and what was your technique to remove the dryed old wax from the creases and seams? Just IPA on rag?

Thanks!

Fantastic turn around and documentation. Outstanding attention to detail. Thanks for posting this Jason . I really enjoy your posts.

Thanks... Just stay with it and don't let people tell you you are being too much of a perfectionist.

A rag... A RAG??? We dont use rags, we use towels

I have some detailing swabs that are very useful in getting in small areas to remove left over wax.. Usually window cleaner gets the wax off pretty well.

Wow man...you are absolutely one of the best representatives the detailing world has of what TRUE detailing is supposed to be. I hope one day to achieve these kinds of results.

Thank you for taking the time to post your work. It truly is a learning experience for those of us still learning this art.

I'm totally impressed. How long does something like this take a pro like you? I'm just a beginner.
