Hello Guys and Gals

Just a quick backgroud on me, my name is Jason and I am from Palestine, AR. I just really starting detailing the right way about 7 months now, and I have only used Adam's Polishes products. I know there are a lot of different products out there and am looking to try different things. I have a 2009 Nissan Titan Crew Cab 4x4 SE which is my daily driver and of coarse it is BLACK, LOL. So basically just looking for any advise I can recieve on black vehicles.

My biggest problem I am having at the current moment is the proper way to wash my truck, I think I have the buffing down pretty good (I have a porter cable 7424, pretty hard to mess anything up with it). I do the 2 bucket wash method, but I think it really the way I go about it, having to wash outside in the elements. I am always in a hurry to get it washed and dried quickly.

Like I said eariler any advise, or help you might be able to provide, would be great. So my mission here is really to learn about different products that might be out there, so I can be a better detailer. Thanks for reading

thanks for the welcome, really just looking to save some time on detailing, I know if you rush you get a rushed job but I know there has to be an easier way to remove swirls from my black paint, I know the last detail I did it took 17 hrs to complete, so I figured I was doing something wrong or I am using the wrong products. LOL Thanks again

I've spent way longer than 17hrs on black cars before, you aren't alone on taking a while. Right now it takes me about 8 hours to fully detail a black car, about 10 for a truck. That is with megs 105/205 and a makita rotary so 17 hours with a pc isn't too bad. The megs twins save me tons of time, and could be a great product for you to get more out of a DA.

That's a lot of real estate to buff out... I did a complete buff-out on this on a few years ago and feel your paint...

Once any color clear coated finish is polished to perfection, anything and everything that touches it has to be soft and gentle to the paint because while most clear coat paints will tend to be harder than traditional single stage paints, they still scratch very easily and removing swirls and scratches can be time consuming.

Next time you work with your Porter Cable make sure you've marked the back of the backing plate with a black mark and watch to see if it and your buffing pad are rotating while you're removing defects. Defects are only removed when your pad is rotating against the finish.

Thanks, for the advice I have my pad marked and I am sure that polishing is not where I am getting the swirls from, I am sure it is from washing the wrong way. That's why I came to this site I am trying to right my wrongs, hopefully I will learn that here. Thanks again
