First things first, I'm new to the forum:buffing:
I've spent the last few weeks researching what kind of wax/sealants would be best for me and I've looked at everything from Meguiars to Souveran. I had my heart set on a good carnauba paste wax, but since it's going on my DD, I'm thinking a sealant would be better as the longevity is much better.

So, I think I've decided to try a coat of XMT 360 followed by a coat of DP Poli-Coat. How would this combo work out for a DD? Any other suggestions are appreciated!

The most important step before waxing/sealing is getting the paint free from contaminates and marring. Do you own a machine polisher? BTW welcome to AG.

I would clay the car first. XMT360 is a great AIO product. If you have a DA use it with a 5.5'' white pad on speed 5-6 and then apply DP Poli-Coat.

Yep, my dad does anyway. He has a 7424 and a rotary (not sure of the model). He's always used Meguiars but I've recently experimented with Adams polishes and I just want to expand my collection in a way.

I completely understand all the steps needed to get a good finish, I'm just curious of what products I should try. Keep in mind, I'm only 20 and my budget is pretty limited :xyxthumbs:

That combo will serve you well. Final results are subjective so try different product combos.:buffing:

If this is the 7424 and not the 7424XP then stick with 5.5" pads these smaller pads are a lot easier for the 7424 and the 7336 models to maintain pad rotation.

Even if it's the XP version, it's still easier for the XP to keep pads rotating when they the smaller diameter pads.

You can use the PC with a cleaner/wax for light correction and this will also do a good job of preparing the surface for application of a finishing sealant like the Poli-Coat.

:)

I just ordered the XMT 360 along with a sample of DP Poli-Seal and Wolfgang's DGPS so I can test both and make a decision from there.
