The oil DISASTER!!!!

^ +1. The President is not to blame! Not the only one at least or the one who should bear the most blame. I'm not saying I support him or that I do not support him, it's just that the placement of blame by some people is misguided. Like Derrick said, the people who made the calls for shortcuts to reduce costs are the most responsible.

It's a damn tragedy. :(
 
I think you are both correct. It's no more likely that this pres was responsible for what happened then it was when people said bush was responsible for all the nonsense they blamed on him. However he is certainly responsible for how he (the president of the US) is handling or in this case not handling fixing it or the aftermath.

#1.-It's like 2 months late but please put together a diverse team of people who know what they are doing for cleanup and get to work.

#2.-Anybody that is physically capable and on unemployment could be asked to help with cleanup. The amount of hours they would be asked to contribute based on the amount of money they are already getting anyway... If you need a job they should make these jobs available.

:iagree: also im going to get bashed for this but what about the 1400-4400 dollars a barrel that our governmet can charge bp that spews into the gulf? not a whole lot maybe 1 person wrote about it but im just saying anyone think thats odd that we can charge that and its not fixed yet????
 
its really pathetic when you have fishermen ready to start cleanup efforts but havent received booms or skimmers wtf is that about? its like bp and the government dont even want to start cleaning up!!!!!!
 
I did not take it personally , but the president did receive a large contribution, so when this oil spill happened be sure that when BP said we can handle this it was agreed upon by the President !!!! I in no way said that he was or is personally responsable for the spill itself but is partially in the quagmire of us not being in the mix to start the clean-up of this mess!!!!

i personally know of 5 people with boats who have signed up and are waiting for equipment to start clean up but have yet to receive the booms and skimmers. I will say i do not know of the sickness fishermen are saying so i cant comment on that but i know here they havent even been given the equipment yet

If BP had followed the drilling process without rushing the drilling timeline there would not be a rig problem today. This happened because they didn't do things the correct way. .

I think the entire article above is a lie. Somebody is trying to cover their rearend. If an employee spoke up they would probably be fired.

A good boss always listens to his employees. If they are honest and loyal they will do the job correctly and efficiently. When employees start arguing there's a major problem. Listen to them and take their advice. You'll sleep better at night. When your experienced manager's on the rig are arguing about safety issues hours before the explosion that killed 11 people and sunk a rig, it shows a total disregard for safe practices on that rig.

What is it? going on 2 months? Now they want to figure out the flow rate? I guess taking into account the rate of response time we have seen do far we can count on the cleanup actually getting underway about the time the entire atlantic is covered in oil.

Not sure why we hear nothing on that news about that powder that was posted earlier in this thread... Some crop dusters and that powder and I would think they could actually clean this stuff up.
 
you know i watched that huckabee show and he had 8-10 products that they were demonstrating and they did the job of soaking up the oil and leaving no residue behind and you can recycle the oil and reuse it also the products are biodegradable.clean this crap! also other countries have offered to bring their ships nd equipment to the gulf but they need to lift the jones act for that to happen, the admiral saying that he hasnt heard anyone request tolift but then the government is like we havent heard from admiral allen to lift? wtf !!!! just lift the damn ban these others countries who appaerently know more about cleaning this mess up then we do !!!! they have already closed the beaches and are starting more by the day here in the panhandle of FL... these white sandy beaches and clear blue water we have is going to be gone! our beaches will NEVER be the same and all the wildlife is taking a massive beating! people say bp or the gov dropped the ball well first they have to know how to play the game and all these idiots we have running the show are complete morons!
 
Cleaning..yes, they can remove it all with polyurethane. However, these morons can't even stop the flow. There is no fail safe for something like this. It's like a doctor doing open heart surgery, cutting open a vital artery, and then saying "Oh crap, what do we do to stop the blood...". Er, lets throw golfballs in it!
 
I just read today barrack didn't speak to the CEO of BP untill the 50th day of the crisis... Don't worry though. Our favorite salesman will be on TV tuesday night to..... wait for it.... talk. He's going to help us understand :rolleyes: what's going on and I'm sure when he's done the seas will part and once again we will all realize how the entire world has changed for the better now that he is in charge and taking care of all our needs...

this guy is an absolute idiot! we all al know whats going on oil is gushing into the gulf and none of you can stop it and you are not cleaning it up! we know! so many people are hurting financially down here and bp hasnt been paying these men and women. should get those damn census employees that WE paid miilions for to come down here and clean up or better yet get these spoiled azz celebrities that WE paid for concerts for that damn president to come here and lend a hand! i am ashamed to these morons running this country!!!
 
o k so now BP has agreed to an escroe account of 20 billion dollars for clean up but here is the kicker guess who is in charge of that 20 billion dollars our good ole government! wtf is that about? we can't trust them with our tax money now BP goes and gives them 20 billion and the government is the ones who disberse it? wow! also BP has put 100 million in a fund for displaced workers from the work stopage and all others affected by this disaster. Please GOD stop this government takeover!!!!!!!
