Greetings fellow detailers.
I came over to this site from a more "product oriented" site in
hopes of finding a friendlier and more helpful atmosphere.
I'll give autogeeks a try.
My wife and I have a car detailing business which has been going strong for over five years now. We have come a long way from the beginning where we would completely detail a trashed car inside and out for 50 bucks to todays packages which can run over $400. Today we do at least 2 cars a day, five days a week (sometimes six) The learning curve has been long and hard but we still feel like this is only the beginning.
Autogeeks, although they sell products, we are hoping are not bound by one particular brand, I would like to get the scope on the best products out there, not just sticking to a favorite brand, but learning by trying them out and learning about how they really work and what to look for to know if one is performing better than another or not. I have always been of the opinion that you cannot possibly know if you are using the best products and tools unless you have tried them all.
We now are getting much more into compounding, polishing and waxing cars and boats and this sort of detailing has become my new hobby as well as my career. These forums are very helpful not only to show off my accomplishments with pics and vids, but to learn from others and even to debate conventional methods with my new ideas. Yes, I promise to make many of you gasp in astonishment at some of my methods and even fall off your chair the occasional time, but just take it with a grain of salt for the greater good of detailing and please try to understand that not everybody does their work by the same book.
Here is kudos to others in my industry and looking forward to bantering ideas back and forth!
Cheers,
Rich
