What tire dressing do you use?

My favorite for now is the Meguiars Hot Shine for that "Ghetto Shine" we like in the hood.

I wanted to try the Simoniz because of the "NO MESS" applicator that came with it. Its pretty good & NO Sling!

I'll be trying some more products soon though!

That's hilarious!! You should see if they would use that slogan in their promotional campaign......I can hear it now "Ghetto shine so you can look good in the hood."

Im the MAN

:whs: Black Onyx is only the best tire dressing ever! A little goes a long way. I got the sample first, after that I just bit the bullet and paid the $25 for the 16 ounce. Worth every penny, IMHO. :dblthumb2:

$25 for 16oz.

Wow, thats a ripoff IMO.

I recently used DP Gloss Tire Gel via a new-to-me method. If your looking for a wet look, glossy tire, here's the method.

The tires were old and dry, in desperate need of some dressing. After thoroughly cleaning, I applied the gel with the long side of a natural bristled fingernail brush which was very convenient for all the grooves and letters on the tire face. This method left a fairly thick layer of gel (in comparison to applying, super thin, with MF cloth) which I left to dry. DP Gloss Tire Gel dries slick to the touch, and this was no exception, but the heavy application left the tires with a very wet and glossy appearance.

I haven't seen the car in a week or two, but I'm confident that the tires are still glossy and black. Not my preference, but it wasn't my car... Owner loves it.

That phrase prolly will work in some areas, but most nah!!! I'll keep it on the computer screen.

Im new to most of these detail product brands here. The GO TO product brand for us ...is Meguiar's!

PB's Bold N Bright is nice, a great product. I have changed to WG and found sling on my cars... Even after drying overnight.

I love Opti-bond and Ultima Tire & Trim Guard. Another that I like is Surf City Garage Beyond Black. Very runny so you have to spray on a microfiber applicator pad then swipe the tire. Allow product to dry before driving, so if you're in a hurry skip this one.

Grizzly, do yourself a favor and don't look up the price of Ultima. It's worth every penny, even though my sample was free...thanks Corey!

If i'm taking my time i'll use ArmorAll Extreme Tire Shine gel using an applicator and giving it two coats with about a half hour in between each coat.

if i'm in a hurry i'll use ArmorAll Extreme Shine aerosol spray where it gives it the shiny glossy look but only taking up about 20 seconds a tire :props:

I, too, like Beyond Black, and you are spot on on how to apply it and on giving it plenty of time to dry.

I use Meguiar’s High Gloss Hot Shine Tire Spray. It's a spray and goes on evenly. It looks wet initially then dries to a rich black shine.

:iagree: I also use the meguiars hot shine in gel form and I think it is great.

I've been using ArmorAll Extreme Shine Gel for over a year and love it. It's inexpensive and leaves an impressive shine that my customers always notice.

ive been happy with optimum tire dressing the origanal.. 2 coats .. and give a quick wipe.. done..

I found that wiping off the tire dressing isnt really good enough but blotting it out with a dry microfiber is alot better. my tires arent slick they have a bunch of ridges in it and if I wipe theres still dressing in the grooves. blotting works for me.

Mike Phillips: " Find what works for you and use it often" or something to that effect.

If have now use FX Tire Shine on my low profile tires, and I have to say I am impressed. It like the extra gloss it provides. The glossiness tones down fairly quickly, but the deep rich black color lasts a few weeks. Given that you can get a 24 oz bottle for only $7, this has to be one of the best bargains around. :xyxthumbs:
